Macro Of Geraniums In My Viennese Garden
Qurator´s Photo Friday Competition # 103

They are one of my favorite Summer flowers. My backyard is quite small but I see to it that I always have their blooms.. they´re so pretty especially when they are trailing and cascading in clusters of pink and red. I love the ivy leaf variety in this post. Its scientific name is Pelargonium peltatum but I also love the single standing ones with pink petals.
PELARGONIUM PELTATUM
An herbaceous perennial native to South Africa, P. peltatum was introduced to the cool climates of Holland and England by 1704. Bright green, five-lobed leaves are similar in shape to that of ivy, with some varieties having variegated foliage with flowers that bloom in shades of apricot, burgundy, lavender, orange, pink, purple, red, and white.Source

So lovely to see them, that is why I love to photograph and shoot some macros to remember how they were and compare them to the new ones of each season.

This coming Spring, I would love to fill my garden wall in Vienna again with geraniums since they are so pretty romantic. The garden wall I am talking about is what I call my spanish wall below since I am inspired by the flowers I see in houses in Southern Spain.

Last Summer, the color theme of geraniums in my spanish wall had been red... so come Spring, I will opt to plant pink ones again that includes the ivy leaf. I think , pink is a very pretty color, don´t you think so?
