The Marco Polo Hotel - A Qurator's Monday Mission Entry
Hello my Steemit friends. I stumbled upon this challenge while going over my feed and one of my newly followed Hiver, @trincowski, submitted an entry under this tag. I thought it was a cool one as blue has always been my favorite color. So accepting the challenge, I went through my photo archives and found one that would fit the particular challenge this Monday - "I'm Blue Da Ba Dee".
The photo above is the facade of the only 4 star hotel in my city, Davao City, Philippines. This hotel began operations in the late '90's and was the premier hotel in the city in its almost 23 years of operations. This hotel was always fully booked, being the hotel of choice by the haute couture, the rich and the famous, and the CEO's and staff of all local and international companies doing business in Davao City. Sadly, the pandemic and the eventual lockdown of the city had paralyzed all travel in and out of the city causing cancellation of bookings, events and business seminars. The quarantine began in March 15 of this year. And after 3 months of quarantine, the hotel announced its closure with no indication of when it might reopen.
Here is another look of the hotel from another angle.
And this is my entry to the Monday Mission of @qurator. If you want to know more about this, check on the link here. You can still catch up with your entry as the deadline is still on Sunday, today being just Wednesday.
