Castagnaccio Pancake on Saint Lucia's Day - Qurator Tasty Tuesday
Hello Steemians!
Today I'll share the photos of an ancient tradition of my zones. What? A recipe, the Castagnaccio Pancake. I'll use this little post to enter in the #tastytuesday initiative of @qurator project.
The recipe is an ancient tradition, used in more than one time. More typical is the autumn, because this food is a chestnut-based recipe.
They are very simple pancakes prepared with a mixture of water and chestnut flour and then cooked on the flame: in a pan, with oil to make them more crispy and tasty, or even without anything, only toasted.
An older tradition wants them to be made on pans that are much more specific but nowadays less used. The evening before the Saint Lucia Day, the people prepared the Castagnaccio pancakes on these pans and then they taste them all together.
The classical recipe: Castagnaccio Pancake with Ricotta Cheese, but often I tried also Stracchino or other spreadable cheese.
