Robert Frost Quotes

in #quotes6 years ago

As well as being a great poet, he has quotes full of wisdom.

I posted one of my favorite poems by Robert Frost earlier today and I couldn't resist sharing some really awesome quotes by him as well.

As you all know, poets are blessed with an enormous amount of wisdom and I often think it is because misery often knocks on a poets door.

Here are a few of my favorite quotes by Robert Frost.

  1. The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep.

  2. Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

  3. If society fits you comfortably enough, you call it freedom.

  4. A civilized society is one which tolerates eccentricity to the point of doubtful sanity.

  5. And were an epitaph to be my story I'd have a short one ready for my own. I would have written of me on my stone: I had a lover's quarrel with the world.

  6. The ear is the only true writer and the only true reader.

  7. To be a poet is a condition, not a profession.
