Forgiving people can be a lot harder than it sounds, but in order to have peace it must be done.

Sometimes it may feel like we aren't making progress because we are holding onto something from our past, but from what I have read it has a lot to do with forgiving others.

Forgiving those who may not deserve forgiveness in order to enlighten yourself and free yourself from that weight. Life is too short and beautiful to be held up on things you have no control of.

Forgiving will bring a sense of peace and let love shine onto others and those around you will feed on it.

Here are a few of my favorite quotes on forgiving others.

  1. When you make a mistake and the devil comes and tells you 'You're no good,' you don't have to take on the guilt and condemnation he wants to put on you. No! You can immediately confess your mistake to God, thank Him for forgiving you and cleansing you with the blood of Jesus, and move forward in the victory of His grace and forgiveness - Joyce Meyer

  2. Forgiving does not erase the bitter past. A healed memory is not a deleted memory. Instead, forgiving what we cannot forget creates a new way to remember. We change the memory of our past into a hope for our future - Lewis B. Smedes

  3. Forgiving is giving up the wish that things could have been different. They weren't. That's the past. Let it go - Valerie Harper

  4. If one by one we counted people out For the least sin, it wouldn't take us long To get so we had no one left to live with. For to be social is to be forgiving - Robert Frost

  5. As unique as we all are, an awful lot of us want the same things. We want to shake up our current less-than-fulfilling lives. We want to be happier, more loving, forgiving and connected with the people around us - Brene Brown

True talk forgiveness is the only way out inorder to have peace of mind

Not forgiving fosters bitterness which is dangerous. The Apostle, Paul wrote the following to the church in Ephesus:
“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of malicious behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:31-32 (NLT)
