I've see many relationships come to a premature end because of drinking and driving. When you're younger, you don't really think about your own mortality too much and I suppose that's where the carelessness comes in. One rule of thumb that I learned through someone else's mistake is that it's never you that hits a light pole drunk. It's always a pedestrian that gets the worst end of your inability to control your motor vehicle like you do when sober. Be safe out there and most importantly, be responsible. And be responsible for your friends because they love you. Their drunk asses would do the same if the roles were reversed.
