It is true being with company can make you feel good about yourself but it is also true that if you cannot be alone with your thoughts then you can never achieve true peace in your life.
It is no coincidence the best dreamers, writers, poets and thinkers all do it best when they are not distracted but rather inspired by what comes from within.
Maybe it is introspection or maybe it is just knowing one's self. For sure no one should criticise if you sometimes fancy a good book and your own company instead of a night out shouting yourself hoarse and getting drunk.
Life is all about balance. So whether it is being with friends or being alone so long as neither dominates the other you will never truly be lost or alone.
Without great solitude no serious work is possible.
