“No one in this world has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.” - Henry Louis Mencken

Thank you @transhuman for your contribution to my thread here. Never underestimate human stupidity I suppose. Love it. Cheers.

some of the best quotes I love occur in the movies. in a spider man movie, uncle said said to the man "with great power comes great responsibility" . recently, in another post, I read that this was from some philosopher. so, I dug a bit and found http://quoteinvestigator.com/2015/07/23/great-power/
so, possibly more movie quotes originate elsewhere but one my favorite is from Master Yoda: "Do or do not. There is no try."

Thank you for your contribution.

I once complained I had no shoes till I met a man that had no feet

This is not an accurate translation!

Battle on – and win your battle!
God Himself will aid you;
At your side fight truth and glory,
Right and holy freedom...

Thank you for your contribution! I'm very grateful! Cheers!

"My time is worth a million plus"

"Carpe Diem" the original phrase now referred to as being in the moment or in the now. It is a Latin aphorism, usually translated "seize the day", taken from book 1 of the Roman poet Horace's work Odes (23 BC).
This is a very important exercise in my daily spiritual practice, a very difficult task attempting to always being in the moment. "Carpe Diem"

My favorite I keep on my mobile phone is from Marcus Aurelius

"The object of life is not to be on the side of the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane."

My favorite quotes are
"Everything happens for a reason"
And
"Expectation always hurts"

Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings it's melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.

-Kahlil Gibran
