MUSING CHRONICLES: Why are we labouring so much before we can eat in Nigeria?

Oh my dear country, Nigeria. Full of natural resources and blessed with great geographical location. A country full of life even in the darkness, rich in culture and diverse languages. Nigeria has not always been faced with this level suffering. At a time it was a giant amongst other countries but now it seems we are licking our self inflicted wounds.

Now, pointing a finger at the people in power does not change the state of the country as we, the people, put them there. They are people just like us.

A government is put in place to guide and serve the people, manage the countries resources and all the while keeping good relationships with the countries outside our borders. Its sad the case is not the same for my country.

We labour so much because we have been misguided and not served and most importantly, our resources have been overly exploited and we cannot show anything worthwhile from the exploitation.

The average Nigerian man struggles on a daily basis to make ends meet as the rate of unemployment increases. No jobs for qualified individuals and if there is, it becomes a thing of tribalism. Where do we draw the line and say its enough.

With so much wrong going on in the country, how does one know what is right again. Working ad honest job is not what gets your daily bread anymore, its swindling and cutting your way to the top that does.

It used to be work hard and you'll rip what you sew but today its theft and mischievous means that gets you what you want.

Finally, it all bothers on the government and all that has to be done to stir the wheel of progress in the right direction.
