I think not every answer and every question is entitled for an upvote and this platform can achieve its real height only when people participate without an expectation of getting an upvote from musing. If you keep your ambition as to get an upvote then I think it is very likely that you will get deviated from the real purpose of a question and answer platform. It is a separate chapter that musing upvotes most of the good question and answers, but the responsibility also lies with the musers too.

Let's have a look on the following points and see how most likely you can get an upvote for your answer.

  1.  There are many users who post good answers but there are few who do this consistently. We need to recognize the people that do and reward them for their help to the site Just see the word consistent, if you are consistent in your participation, you are likely to be recognized by musing curation team.
  2. If your answer is thoughtful and detailed in response, it can be considered as a good answer. You have a very high chance to get an upvote from musing.
  3. If you are not plagiarizing and giving thoughtful answer of your own and providing reference, if taken from other source, then it is ideally considered as a good answer and you are likely to get an upvote from musing.
  4. Although English may not be your native language, but a relatively correct answer in grammar, punctuation will be fine while making a response. So those users with a correct intention and with minimal grammatical error will be rewarded with an upvote from musing.

So check yourself if you are correct and in tune with the above, then you are having high probability to get an upvote from musing, if not then try engaging more and be consistent, you will be getting that reward sooner than later.
