Qilimanjaro- Upcoming Technical Evolution by Quantum Computing

in #qilimanjaro6 years ago

Problem:

Even though lot of evolution occurred in the computer industry. Still it needs enhancement in the efficiency to sustain rapid technological progress.

The problem with the Classical computers is smaller chip size and an increasing number of components, nowadays electronic devices contain millions of transistors.

But the complications with the transistors are they will shrink over time and transistors usage is limited in the computer
So, it requires enhancement of efficiency in the computation

Here comes the role of Quantum Computing.

Quantum Computing:

Generally classical computers operate with bits 0,1 But it takes only one value at a time (either 0 or 1).
Quantum computers operate with quantum bits, or qubits. In this processor takes both the values (0 and 1) at a time. It follows physical laws in the same way that opposite poles of a magnet attract each other or gravity causes masses to fall.
Qubits stores huge amount of information, being faster than classical computers, and consuming less energy.

Quantum technology Economy

Market opportunity:

Countries like European union and china have taken initiative to develop quantum technologies.
Quantum computing is an increasingly hot area for research and investment, with big corporations like IBM, Google or Microsoft
World’s leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm Goldman Sachs has projected the quantum computing industry could potentially be $29 billion by 2021.

Cryptography and security:

Quantum computers will be able to perform tasks like factorization of large numbers and algorithms like RSA, DSA and EEC.
It can accelerate the growth and development of economic field.

Qilimanjaro:

Qilimanjaro is a project aiming at opening the world of quantum computation to every company and individual, without the need of acquiring an expensive quantum computer, neither being enrolled in a certain university or program, or undertaking expensive partnerships with large players in the quantum computation industry.

Qilimanjaro is structured in two teams:

 Qilimanjaro Computing Services (QCS).

 Qilimanjaro Software Services (QSS).

Qilimanjaro Computing Services (QCS):

The Qilimanjaro Computing Services (QCS) team will focus on building a quantum annealer based on coherent qubits to be accessed through a cloud-based platform
It developed a simple, user-friendly interface providing external users with editing capabilities to build custom programs

Qilimanjaro Software Services (QSS):

It will assist individuals and companies to adapt their problems to quantum algorithms that run on traditional quantum machines.
It offers solutions to
o Adapting real-world problems to quantum algorithms
o Optimizing quantum algorithms for any existing quantum hardware, including other quantum platforms outside Qilimanjaro
o Running and analysing experiments on our quantum computer
