RE: Qigong Part 1 - Qigong is a science, not a skill

in #qigong6 years ago

Qigong is basically learning to control one's breath to train the body to new extreme.

I've been following this Dutch guy who, after the loss of his wife to suicide, exiled himself in search of answer and inadvertently rediscovered a form of Qigong that he calls the Wim Hof Method.

He was in the news a few years ago as "The Ice Man" for being able to stand fully covered from neck down in a ice bath and last for 1 hour 44 minutes as well as other feats such as climbing Mount Everest to 6.7KM height with just a short pants and shoes. Doing the same but climbed to the top of Mount Kilimajaro. As well as running a full marathon in the harshest dessert in Africa without even a sip of water.

Qigong is real. and every feat performed by this white man (performed under intense medical supervision) just proves it further.

@awesomianist thank you for dropping by to my post.
I am so glad to know you have discovered the Dutch guy and he had used qigong to recover from his suffering.
And I appreciate you have quoted a real-life practitioner in Qigong. "The ice Man" indeed is an excellent example of using qigong in his own challenge.
btw, I did a google search on iceman qigong, indeed there are quite many records in the search results included youtube and articles.
Once again, thanks for sharing
Cheers

@digitalmind Been a fan of him ever since he (or rather his son) decided make his knowledge into a business by teaching others. That's when The Ice Man became The Wim Hof Method. I would love to join one of his class one day when i finally can afford it.
