A Very Basic Introduction To Qigong

in #qigong6 years ago

Qigong is the oldest and lesser known form of Traditional Chinese Medicine. More than 5,000 years ago the ancient Chinese masters of esoteric healing came to the understanding that everything is composed of the same energetic substance, which they called Qi.

These ancient masters observed that there is a oneness and wholeness in all existence and that everything is energetically interconnected as one body. Energy may appear to take on different forms yet intrinsically all things in the universe are woven together. Qi is vibrating in constant energetic motion within all things. It is the catalyst for everything to relate and interrelate within the universe. The laws of physics have now demonstrated that matter and energy are interchangeable and matter is another form of energy.

Energy is inherent in the living human body and the body is sustained by energy (Qi)
Qi is stored within the body in the form of energetic pools, creating the energetic matrix of the internal organs. From these internal pools, the body’s life force energy flows in the form of rivers and streams. These rivers and streams form the body’s vessels, channels and collateral systems, which are connected to all our internal organs.

Through observation and study, Qigong masters discovered that each internal organ has a different function and a different vibration. By tracing the energetic pathways of Qi through each internal organ and observing its affects on bodily functions, the Chinese developed the basic theories of TCM which inspired Qigong movements. We can heal ourselves through these simple yet profound movements and meditations.

TCM relies on the proper gathering, refinement and utilization of the body’s energy, which allows the internal organs to function in natural harmony. Qigong movements work with these energy flows to enable people disperse blockages and stagnation that restrict energy flow within our body/mind and spirit. We then do movements that bring in life force energy which promotes harmony and wellbeing in all aspects of our life!!! Qigong boosts our vitality while calming the mind.

Hello aumsomg! This was a very well-written and motivational article about Qi. Actually, my cardiologist has suggested this heart exercise for my palpitation, but as the typically arrogant westerner that I am, I instantly rejected the idea and I rely exclusively on medication. Your article, however, has motivated me to give it a fair chance and try (you have a better way with words than my cardiologist, that's for sure). Balance and harmony is definitely what we all need in our life, especially us who suffer from minor arrhythmia. Thank you for the enlightenment :)))

I am looking forward to you visiting us here in Greece this Spring!

Yes! I'm excited to come to Greece and share Qigong that celebrates the Sacred Feminine .

This is a quick and, though very succinct, excellent article about Qi Gong!

Thanks a lot for sharing and I look forward to learning more about this very ancient set of techniques that has been poking my interests for years...

Namaste :)

Thanks Eric! Yes it's a large complex subject to touch in on....

I have a Chinese friend who has been trying to introduce me to ancient Chinese healing methods. Reading this makes me understand it a little bit more. Thanks @aumsong.

Wonderful! It's a pretty magical path to explore.

Oh yes, Qigong has been called "Chinese Yoga", just as Yoga has been referred to as "Indian Qigong".

What a beautiful post @aumsong!!!
I am quite familiar with a lot from what you say about Qi but you sound like someone with a lot of knowledge about energy fields! So can't wait to hear more!

Thank you and I look forward to learn more from you 😀!!!

yes yes, good news , I like it @aumsong

I have been thinking about practicing qigong for some time now. I always postpone it for some reason or other.

But i think this is a sign. So, I'm starting, this time for real.

Thank you very much for this.

@claudetap what do you think?

Nice article but the best thing with QI cong is to practice it seriously and regularly ( possibly with Tai Chi) without asking you questions you don't have the true answers; and after sometime you will enjoye some kind of complete benefit.

oh this is awesome article. You're a great writer
