US sanctions on Putin's associates
Twenty companies owned by Putin Associates, state arms exporters and a bank have been caught in this ban.
Putin's close associates include wealthy Oleg Dripyska and lawmaker Suleiman Karimov. Their sanctions will be seized in the United States due to sanctions.
In a statement on Friday, US Finance Minister Steven Mitchin said that the punishment for those who benefit from the "corrupt" social system of Russia.
Moreover, Russia's intervention in the US presidential election in 2016 and the action of sanctions has been taken in response to Russia's actions in Crimea, East Ukraine and Syria.
Mitchin also accused the cyber-attack of hateful Russia. He said those who are getting benefits from Putin's government are also the target of sanctions.
This is the most aggressive step taken by the administration of the US President Donald Trump so far against Moscow. Russia has not responded yet.
Last month the United States banned 19 Russia for alleged intervention of the presidential election and cyber-attack in 2016.
