Life on a Hobby Farm (Part 2)

in #puppy7 years ago

Well today on the hobby farm (or homestead as my husband calls it), we had a surprise prison break by two of our 2-year-old male puppies (I know they aren't puppies anymore but they are always puppies at heart,) thankfully the other four dogs didn't decide to break out of their fenced in front yard area with them.

I wrote a short piece about that earlier but I didn't have any pictures to include until the boys came back from their adventures soaking wet, covered in muck and faces that are now pincushions because they played with porcupines while they were gone. :(

Well they are back, a bit drier and its time for the removal process. Poor babies. :(

They're coool!

We had a lab that was smart enough not to mess with skunks, but not smart enough not to run out in front of our car. We didn't kill him, but he was scraped up badly. I loved that dog and we were always safe with him around. He is gone now, but still in my heart. lol

Awe sorry to hear about your lab, labs are gorgeous dogs.

They are our protectors, our friends, and they never do leave us because we have all the memories of their escapades to look back on.

Over the years I've had to say goodbye to a lot of beautiful animals and every single one of them broke my heart just a bit...its harder with the dogs than any other animal because they are a part of the family, like another kid, with their own personalities and quirks and we'd never change them no matter what. :D

Oh, poor babies! :(

I know, its so horrible to see them come home like that because I know we are going to have to get them out and they aren't going to like the removal process at all. :(

Thankfully we go all of them out of Shadow (the bottom picture)...poor Tiny still has a few in his face that just haven't come completely through, at least they aren't hurting him at this point.
