Service During the Conduct of the Career Service Examination
A week ago when news about Chokoleit’s death spread out, I was saddened because he is too young to go. When I heard the cause of his death thought I am somehow a little angry for not prioritizing his health.
Fast forward Sunday, March 17 at past 8am, I was taking my rounds monitoring the ongoing CSC Career Service Examination at the UC Main when I met an accident. I was on my way to the control area taking the ramp as the closest way had me tumbling down with my butt hitting the pavement first then the back of my head second. Right then my head swell. I feel like a tennis ball pop up right at the back of my head and I have no one to blame but myself, I should have had taken the stairs instead. I felt bad coz right at that moment, I do not want to draw attention and I am there to serve. I have to maintain a watchful eye on the ongoing examination. Despite RD’s urging me to be medically checked, I stand my ground not to given that I did not lost consciousness nor vomitted. I however requested for ice as a first aid.
I went through my second round carrying ice on my head as I inspect if everything is in order with the examiners asking what the ice for, or I’m simply asked if I am ok. Surely, some of the examinees find me weird with the ice😂.
I was able to finish my tasks to the very end.👏🏻 I have God to thank for. Truly, our lives are fleeting. It can be taken from us at a snap of a finger and voila! Goodbye world!
This afternoon, I finally went to see a doctor and was informed that I’m good. I have head trauma so the headaches I am experiencing is but the after effect of the incident given that my head is still swollen although it no longer resemble like a tennis ball today.😊 Thanks God it is not something really bad.
It must be the same feeling when chokolet was going through the show-that love for the people who were present to see him must be overwhelming that he doesn’t have the heart not to go on with the show.
As to my case, had the symptoms be different I would have let RD persuade me to be rushed to the ER. But thanks God I do not have to. What a relief.
The incident reminds me how short our time can be here in our Mother Earth so I will try to spend more time with family, create more memories, do better, work harder and pray hardest.
