Continuando a série de Modernos Half Dollars Comemorativos, apresentaremos hoje o 1996-S "Swimming" gradado pela PCGS PR70 DCAM.
Todas as moedas desta série pesam 11,34g com 91,67% de cobre e 8,33% de níquel. Foram emitidas com acabamento Proof e Brilliant Uncirculated.
Elas serão apresentadas na ordem que foram emitidas.
Esta moeda foi emitida como parte de um projeto ambicioso de moedas comemorativas para as XXVI Olimpíadas de Verão realizadas em Atlanta, Georgia.
O obverso foi desenhado por William Krawczewicz. Mostra um nadador numa competição.
O reverso mostra a Chama Olímpica, o Logo Olímpico e o "100", já que este ano marcou o centésimo aniversário do primeiro dos Modernos Jogos Olímpicos, em 1896.
Um total de 114.315 moedas foram emitidas em São Francisco. O preço de emissão foi U$12,50. O preço atual é cerca de U$265,00 neste grau.
