A origem do jiu jitsu tem varias fontes, a primeira vem que os monges indianos criaram como um modo de defesa pessoal, a segunda já diz que foi os samurais japones que criaram, na arte original se denominava ju jutsu, a denominação jiu jitsu veio só depois.
um japonês chamado jigoro kano no intuito de criar uma arte marcial mesclou varias tecnicas de outras lutas, como o sumo o ju jutsu e outras, assim se criou o judô que é um esporte muito conhecido até hoje,um dos alunos do mestre jigoro kano,o mitsuyo maeda também conhecido como conde koma decidiu imigrar para brasil chegando aqui foi ajudado por um brasileiro chamado carlos gracie, e como forma de agradecimento pela ajuda maeda acabou ensinando ao carlos o ju jutsu e o judô, assim dando inicio a criação do jiu jitsu brasileiro que vou explicar no proximo post.
