Psycho-Pass, Ego, Sanity and The Origins of My STEEM Name + OSHO
I found this comment on a YouTube video on Psycho-Pass which is one of my favorite anime ever made. If you are wondering where my name comes from, it is from this masterpiece which also had two amazing (but lesser quality) sequels (a movie and a series). I use @vimukthi as my account name and it means "liberation" and it is used in a more positive sense than a term like anarchy and it also has a more spiritual and non-violent touch (except for the occasions where commies hijack the definition). I'm with Makishima Shougo on most points except for the violation of the NAP. I'm a massive supporter of Libertarianism/ Anarcho-capitalism. So my STEEM name isn't exactly anything even close to random.
I love this guy so much, I agree with pretty much all of his view points (though I do question his methods). Books(I love reading), society(I have no liking for it), people(sheep, narrow minded persons that focus to much on intellect and pretty much not any on wisdom), I love almost everything about him. I don't even have I problem with him being insane, since really being insane isn't an actual problem, him being a psycho path is the problem (though I do admit that I like him as a psycho path). I also have a theory about being crazy and sane, though I'm not going to go into details with it other than saying this. My theory is that there is no being crazy or sane or to put another way being crazy is being or having a personality that is different, and being sane is having a personality that is just like every other human. If anyone sees this comment and wants me to go into a deep explanation with this theory let me know.
P.S I hate that Makishima is dead, they should have kept him as an antagonist. Somehow.
Okay, I'm willing to go into it if you're interested, though I can't promise that I'll explain it well. And if there is anything that you disagree with tell me. I will start with this question. What is insanity? And I'm not talking about the official definition of the word. I'm talking about the context that almost everyone uses when calling someone crazy. I believe the answer is when someone acts differently from anyone else. I'm not saying that these people are not a danger to others in a number of cases. But there are lots of cases where we call that person insane because they act a certain way from everyone else. Why should this be a bad thing? We treat it like it is. In some cases yes, that person may have brain damage or a tumor, or something like that making them act the way they do. But there are lots of cases where they act the way they do because it's who they are. We label them with "Disorders" but really it's not a disorder, it's simply the way they think. It's almost like society is afraid of individuality. In fact I think it is, It's afraid of anything disrupting the flow of what they call normal. In essence, it's them herding sheep, but that's a completely different discussion. But that, in essence, is what I based my theory off. Apologies if this is not an adequate explanation and if you have an argument of otherwise please tell me.

Ego - The False Center by OSHO
Instead of adding much of my own comments, I ask you to try give the above piece of writing a good read. Maybe you'll need few reads to fully grasp things. That's okay. It's far better that perfectly understanding books worth of drivel. Here is a more relevant quote from the OSHO's writing:
They are not concerned with you.
They are concerned with the society.
Society is concerned with itself, and that's how it should be.
They are not concerned that you should become a self-knower. They are concerned that you should become an efficient part in the mechanism of the society. You should fit into the pattern. So they are trying to give you an ego that fits with the society. They teach you morality. Morality means giving you an ego which will fit with the society. If you are immoral, you will always be a misfit somewhere or other. That's why we put criminals in the prisons - not that they have done something wrong, not that by putting them in the prisons we are going to improve them, no. They simply don't fit. They are troublemakers. They have certain types of egos of which the society doesn't approve. If the society approves, everything is good.
One man kills somebody - he is a murderer.
And the same man in wartime kills thousands - he becomes a great hero. The society is not bothered by a murder, but the murder should be commited for the society - then it is okay. The society doesn't bother about morality.
Morality means only that you should fit with the society.
If the society is at war, then the morality changes.
If the society is at peace, then there is a different morality.
Morality is a social politics. It is diplomacy. And each child has to be brought up in such a way that he fits into the society, that's all. Because society is interested in efficient members. Society is not interested that you should attain to self-knowledge.
The society creates an ego because the ego can be controlled and manipulated. The self can never be controlled or manipulated. Nobody has ever heard of the society controlling a self - not possible.
This is what idiosyncrasy liberate you from. This is the key to Makishima and the Sybil system. Give it some thought. I might actually end up writing a Anime Theory post on this in the future. So keep following for more :-)
