I think this may suggest a cultural change. People have so many other distractions these days.
I love this point in particular:
I find this last part indicative of the state of mind most of us are in, where we are focused on the pleasure trap to derive happiness and satisfaction in life. Does not having sex mean one is going to remain dissatisfied? No, but some people may think so.
Modern society seems to be fixated on the pursuit of short term pleasure and I believe that is actually a recipe for unhappiness in the long term.
I also think it is the root of much addiction (my own experiences with alcohol included).
Indeed, we drive for pleasure = happiness, the "feel-good" fix, physically or psychologically, and don't look at the underlying substance of what we are doing. Addiction is such a great case for that drive for pleasure. Thanks for the feedback.
