The Mistake Common To New Habit Failure

I sent out my greetings to you all, believing you are all doing well. As this year run to an end, a thought came to my mind which ended with what is common to many of us at the beginning of every year.

Do You Know About New Year Resolution?

Most of us begin the new year with our goals and plans believing we will follow them to fulfillment but some calculation revealed that between 84 - 95 percentage fail in achieving their new year resolution. Don't ask me the key indicator I used to calculate (lolz), but it's a reality I want to bring to your notice how to restructure and make a better plan to avoid failure when you document your new year resolution for this coming year is of the almost importance and
I will share some point with you.

Key Note: Out of 10 at least 8 times it is likely to fall back into your old behaviors/habits or the patterns and styles than sticking with a new behavior.

Lets look at some point that revealed the failure in sticking to new habits.

There is some practical information I will be sharing with you, this may or may not answer all but again it will activate some positive changes in all you do. Let's go deeper:

  • A Mindset Of Change Everything At Once

Here! This is a concept that has helped me so much in the journey of life. I am workaholic. Trying every moment to make something work, all my task I will always fix them all at the same time but I discovered that there is an issue with some task deliverable. Relate this with a change of behavior, when you are trying to change everything at once, you will end up changing none. Pick them one after the other is the process that results to the solution. You discover a habit? No matter how tiny your discovery is, I feel working on three habits at a time is a good one, more than that can lead to frustration and you may not receive result at the end of the exercise.

The understanding I do say determine your stand, pick up a keystone habit which will naturally pull the rest of your life in line. You don't need to struggle, make it a routine and you will see the result in what you pull for.

I'm a man that do think and study human actions, this is a habit I created for myself after I discovered my encounter with Ponzi scheme. With this little exercise of reasoning, it creates a ripple effect in other areas of my life (writing motivation articles, lifestyle presentation, and so many others). The keynote here is, it's not that the habits work out for me that is the major thing but I also enjoy a wide range of secondary benefits. I can sit down within 10 minutes and receive inspiration about that environment. Until you figure out your keystone habits, you won't be able to discover the other areas of your life that serve as an attachment to fulfilling of that habit you discovered. Friend! pick a keystone habit, exercise on it, meditate on it and review it day by day.

  • Starting Matters

Knowing your keystone habit is cool, but starting is also important. When you make your habit so easy that you can't say no to it then you will succeed. When you don't mark out the motivation that surrounds the new habit you discovered you make end up not at the middle of the road.
Starting the behavior is the most difficult part, it usually involves motivation most time. Check around and picture what motivated you to that your keystone habit, when you discover this, start with a remarkably small habit and the moment you start, it doesn't take much willpower to finish it.
If you quantify your pushup reading a book, start with a page or two possibly every night or depending on your keystone habit you want to build. Remember to start with a behavior that is so small, reasonable to do each day because I sense new habits should be non-threatening

  • You Seek For Result

Flashback to new year resolution, it is clear to me that many focused on some type of result ( What I want: Number of books to write before end of the year, achievement by the end of the year, weight loss by the end of the year, how much money save by the end of the end). What do you understand by the word ritual.?

Many at times we forget most important things but we focus on what its already set if we follow due process. Friends, not the outcome that really matters focus on the ritual.

As a human, every of our thinking is on the result and the outcome of what we do, this is not bad because we want our new behaviors to deliver new results, Yes! this is cool, but there is a problem that surrounds this...

New Goals Don't Deliver New Results, It Is New Lifestyles by samest

The mind from the above quote reveals to me that a lifestyle is never an outcome but rather a process. When you focus all your energy on the ritual which is the process, the result will come out well. Draw out the key performance indicator which guides you along the way. It is the rituals that turn your behaviors to habits.

My friends, if you are looking for a way to start building a new habit for yourself then, fall in love with a new ritual (process).

  • Does Small Changes Add Up?

Little drops make an ocean this is a statement that clarifies the above indicator. If I summon everyone with a question of dropping what are your goals for next year, many can describe the minimum that they want to achieve. Friends, looking at your present habits, you will see a different picture. When you take time to review your present state, you will discover that at least one percent drop or increase can be found. Whatever habit you have today whether good or bad, it is the result of small choices/ actions made over time. When you repeat a pattern on a behavior its leads to significant results. Every day you make a choice to become one percent better or worse on every habit with every action we apply, but so often the choices are small enough that you miss them. Why not get one percent better each day.

I will conclude with this note:

Are you serious about building a new habit? Are you confuse of where to start? Are you afraid of what the outcome is going to be?

Friends, start with something small, when you repeat this over and over, you will only worry about increasing the intensity and not the outcome. The first thing to do is to build the behavior, stop worrying about the results the result will fix itself when you follow due process.

Very interesting read. also most people forget dieting or watching what they eat around holidays which is a backsliding
