keep the heavenly tao while eliminating the human desire - 存天理，去人欲

Mr. Yangming told us, if you want to listen to your heart

• as in the west, we say God lives in our heart, and it is our heart, not our brain can guide our life -
  we have to eliminate the factor of human desire from our heart, in order to keep the heavenly tao, ie God's guidance in our heart. Our desire caused the movement of temper, which disrupted the tranquility of the "lake" - our heart.
  
  Like a disturbed lake, the surface can't reflect the image truthfully.
  When we were born at the beginning, our heart is pure, without proper education, our heart gets contaminated during our growth. Hence in Chinese there is a saying:
  
  存天理，灭人欲，这句话，经过文革的批评，已经被批臭了。
  通过阳明先生的教导，使我重新认识到它的合理性。
  由于私欲的遮蔽，使我们的良心难以发现，
  失去了天良的指引，我们陷入了私欲造成的鬼打墙。
  我们的人生在里面团团转，不得解脱。
  唯有按阳明先生的指示，诚意，正心，
  方可格物致知，继而才能修身齐家。。。
