Does Thinking Cause Depression

There are no blood tests or x-rays to diagnose depression. When human beings do not have the tools to recognize the cause of a troublesome condition they are prone to blame the victim. This is why disappointment has been so often blamed on how a person perceives themselves and the world about them. For instance it is not uncommon even today to hear physicians say that depression is caused by an individual s thinking pattern. The faith- is that many people experience dissatisfaction between how they want their life to be and how it actually is (in their judgment). This gulf in perception is considered the cause of depression. If thoughts are corrected then supposedly depression will vanish.

Nonsense! Our perceptions are in accord with our internal experience of ourselveshow we feelnot the other way around. Emotional and mental health are not segregate from physical health.

A vibrant well rested and balanced physiology promotes physical feelings of well being and happiness. Perceptions about ourselves and our place in the world will change like we job toward achieving and maintaining physiological balance. In order to experience happiness promote physiological balance!

Approximately 80% of people experiencing depression are not currently receiving any treatment.

By the year 2020 depression will be the 2nd most common health problem in the world.

Not-thinking can also cause depression, whereby you don't think about your life, what causal factors have led to your current condition. When you know more about yourself, know thyself, you can be empowered to do something about it.

Thinking is a problem when you over-think and obsess over something but don't actually think deeply about it to understand the situation. You just keep thinking about the effects of the problem, but not the root to find the answer.

Thinking needs to be developed.
