How to reach the next level of your life EFFORTLESS
Good morning everyone! Happy Thursday! My name is Kyriakos Kyriakides, Founder of the Team LEGACY, your mentor and your coach! This is another episode of Words of Wisdom SHOW! Today we have Episode 19!
In today’s episode I have an amazing topic! Today’s topic is so simple but at the same time so powerful! It’s an advice that you can instantly apply to your life and see great changes! By following this very simple but powerful advice you can become a better husband or wife, a better entrepreneur, a better mother or father, a better brother or sister, a better colleague, and generally you can improve any area of your life! This powerful advice can give happiness to the unhappy person, can give empowering to the weak person, can motivate the unmotivated person, can give hope to the hopeless, and can bring your life to the next level!
What I am talking about doesn’t cost you anything, but is worth everything! Isn’t something that you can buy, or something that you can sell! You can’t steal it, or borrow it from someone! This technique, in order to have that great value, must be authentic! You have to do it in a meaningful way! You may read or listen to me right now and think: “Ok, so what’s this amazing advice that can change so great my life?” So I will answer to your question right now! SMILE!
You heard it right! Today, we are going to talk about the Power Of Smile! I am talking about the smile that you can give to someone! You can’t buy the smile, and you can’t sell it! When you smile to a person it doesn’t cost you anything, but it worth everything to the other person! You can’t borrow a smile, and of course YOU CAN’T FAKE IT! Well, actually you can fake it, but it won’t have the positive and amazing effect we just describe! If you give a fake smile, then the other person will understand it, and then it will have a negative effect, and not a positive effect as it has a pure and meaningful smile!
Psychologist James V. McConnell, and professor at the University of Michigan talked specifically about Smile: “People that Smile are Better Leaders, Better Parents, more Effective Teachers and they grow more Happy children! That's why Encouragement, is better and more effective teaching method, compare to Punishment!"
A smile is so powerful even when it is invisible! Companies that have Call Centers in USA, have a training course named “Power of Voice” and employees on call centers attend this course, in order to learn how to talk through the phone. In that course a major lesson, is that they have to smile when the talk with a client all the time! When they smile through the phone, their smile passes with their voice, and it gives a more positive feeling to the other person that talks with them! This is a more efficient way for companies to increase their sales of Products and Services!

I want to share with you a true story that shows the powerful of even the invisible smile. There was a CEO of a company that was looking for a PhD graduate for a very demanding position in his company. The CEO eventually found the ideal Employee for that position! It was a PhD student that soon would graduate from the University! The CEO made a bit of research about that student, and found out that he had also other offers, from other companies, that most of them were bigger and more famous companies than his. Eventually the PhD Graduate took the position from the CEO of our story and not from the other bigger and more famous companies. When the CEO asked the graduate why he picked that position instead of the other big companies, the graduate replied to him: “When the other companies called me to offer me a job, they were cold and unfriendly with me, like I was just another call they had to make. But when you called me, I heard and felt the big smile you had through the phone and the positive vibes, and this made me feel that you actually care about me and you want me in your company! That’s the reason I chose your company instead of the other companies!”
That’s an amazing example that shows the real power of an authentic smile! Now you may think: “But I can’t smile all the time!”, and I totally agree with you! Of course you can’t be smiley 24/7! This would be crazy! There will be times when you will feel down! There will be times when you will feel that you don’t want to smile today! That’s the most important times that YOU HAVE TO SMILE! Here I am not advising you to fake the smile! I am giving you a solution on how you can change your mood when feel down, to a more positive one!

There is a quote that says: “If you act and behave as if you are happy, there is a tendency that you will actually become happy". What does that actually mean? It means that when you are not happy, if you behave like a happy person, then your energy will change to a more positive one, you will start producing positive vibes, and eventually you may even become happy! When you become able to change your mood from unhappy to happy, you will be able to help other people to become happy too! Imagine how many people you can help daily if you know how to make them happy!
Before I close today’s episode I want to give you a task! Try this task for the next 30 days, and I am sure that you will be more happy and positive in your life, and you will also make other people happy and positive! For the next 30 days, try every hour to smile to 1 person! If you do that, it means that you will share a smile with 16 people every day! Doing this you will feel happier and other people around you will feel happier too! I can guarantee you, that if you do that; your life will change in a more positive way forever!
