How to overcome identity crisis?

Identity crisis is a period of life, when it comes to the realization that in some certain sphere of life (be it work, family or something else) he's already achieved everything that could reach and no qualitative change takes place. This awareness puts a person into a dead end, may cause long-term stress and even depression.

However, it is understood that the crisis is the beginning of something, something new and better. And the sooner people cope with a crisis situation, the sooner will come the changes. Here are some tips on how to cope with the problem of personal crisis, having received from it the maximum benefit for its further development.

1. Endurance training with the help of stress.

This advice, so to speak, with the future in mind. The bottom line is that, including in his quiet and measured daily life different stress situations, we become less sensitive to them in the "era of the storm." Let it be some minor action: up early, cleaning or Jogging. If this action causes you have internal resistance, so it will be a great trainer for your mental endurance.

2. Constant tension = fast relaxation.

The crisis period is a period of constant emotional tension. Therefore it is very important learn quickly and relax correctly, to avoid overstrain of the organism and, as a consequence of an emotional breakdown. Relaxation requires an individual approach. Someone can achieve the desired result, just watching a favorite movie, or through reading, helps other sports or meditation.

3. Say "no" to domestic criticism.

In a period when something does not work, or goes the wrong way, the level of self-criticism increases. It is important to understand that in the current situation is not solely your fault. It would happen sooner or later, because this is a mandatory stage in the development of any person. And instead of beating yourself up and torturing "soul-searching" is to look at the situation more optimistically, to obtain the internal forces and to look with confidence into the future.

4. A positive Outlook on the situation.

It is important to understand that overcoming this crisis, you will begin a new phase of your life, so don't take it as something negative, rather the contrary. Tell yourself: "It happened because it was supposed to happen. It's not my fault and not someone else. I have to move on because it is required by the life itself."

The first time this happened to me in my life it was so difficult to deal with. I believe that it's such a necessary aspect of our own evolution. But you really do need to stay positive and forgive yourself for the part of yourself that you are now letting go of. It's always worth it, but can be a bit scary at times.
