Addiction is not having control over a particular thing. The reason i used the word “fight” is because addiction does not let go of the prey easily, you have to fight it. Recently, a colleague of mine was drinking what i thought was coke although it was wrapped in a nylon and i tried collecting it thinking it was coke, did not have the intention of drinking it though, he did not give me, it was alcohol in a coke bottle wrapped with nylon so people would not know, addiction!

Addiction has sent some to their early graves, destroyed beautiful relationships, make some the shadow of themselves. The Language of Addiction is “Take me and have peace”, “Take me and forget your sorrow”, “Take me and be happy”, Take me and forget your problems”. But all these are temporary. Now, Addiction can be fought with the steps below.

Be Determined- One major steps to fight addiction is determination to fight it. If the person is not willing to let go, it is a difficult task but once the person is willing to let go then what the person is doing is looking at addiction eyeball to eyeball ready to fight it. Willingness to let go is a major step to victory.

Avoid Temptations- Discard every trace of alcohol from your home, offices, anywhere around you. Avoid places that trigger it, you can change routes if need be.

Avoid Bad Influences- If the friends you move with are takes alcohol then you have to avoid moving with them and going to places that would trigger it.

Have It At The Back Of Your Mind That It affects The Health- Alcohol does severe damages to the body such as affecting the liver, cancer, hallucinations, difficulty in creating long term memories, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure to mention a few. Having all these at the back of your mind can help you stay of it.

*Seek Help- Seek help if you need assistance. We are in the age of technology where you can seek help online, if you do not want to go physically. This will also help.

I am here to tell you that you can fight that addiction.
