Many people argue that physical labor is more difficult than mental labor. That is, people claim that it is more difficult to work with hands than to work with the brain. In this regard, there are many disputes and disagreements. People who work with the brain say it's more difficult than working physically. At the same time, people working physically assert the opposite.

But where is the truth?

In physical labor, energy losses occur when a person engages certain muscle groups. As a result, a person loses his strength and needs a physical rest to restore his strength. Physical relaxation means resting the body, but not resting the brain. That is, physically you can rest on the couch in front of an interesting film.

In mental work, fatigue has other consequences. The main energy losses occur if we act against the backdrop of negative emotions and feelings. Monotonous work exhausts and deprives forces. Often deprived of mental strength, you lose physical. When you are exhausted emotionally and mentally, you need a combined rest. Desirable is a dream. It implies a physical and emotional rest.
This principle is based on all the improving and developing methods: "If you do not want to deplete mentally, work with the positive." It is not necessary to create additional emotional stresses, which is fraught with consequences.

Hence, any work without desire, any self-mastery, violence over oneself is paid for by energy losses. This is one of the basic laws of bioenergetics.

I believe that physical and mental work is a different work, but they are interconnected. Mental work is uniquely more difficult. Because after completing physical work, you go to rest. But if you have completed a difficult mental work (or have not finished) your brain continues to think about it. Even in a dream. This creates additional discomfort.

What do you think is more difficult, physical or mental work?

While I tend to agree with the definition of the type of continued exaustion of mental work, the same types of negative mental experiences can also be experienced by the person doing physical work, leading to a combination of mental and physical exaustion on par with the person sitting behind a desk or similar situation.

I agree with this opinion. Combined labor is more difficult. A person has to work physically and mentally and it is exhausting.
