The group psychology, as known as herd mentality, is an engrossing issue to talk about.

In present-day society, people always want to try not to follow other people, keep their own idea and style. Most of people noticed that although following other people can let them make a decision easier, they still have to be responsible for the result of the event. However, it is a double-edged sword for everyone because if you are successful, you are a good investor and you can enjoy. To contrast with it, if you are a loser when you follow other people, you not only should suffer the pain by yourself ,but also lose a better choice which you can gain.

So,the problem I want to say is why people still have herd mentality. I will explain it in a special degree.

I like to mix the knowledge about several subjects together to think and talk.
Psychology, its meaning is that research people’s emotion, motivation and their saying ,tell people why they do it and what is the true meaning of the motivation.

But in my opinion, it may be related to people in ancient times .

Long time ago, people went out to hunt animals for their food. They did not own advanced technology so communicating is a big problem. So it is hard for them to exchange the formation when the group is divided into many small team which contains about 5 person. Additionally, the team does not own enough power and person to attack or hunt the animal for enough food,or even people be hunted.

They faced many objected troubles, so in this situation, one team should unify the opinion, and they have to follow their leaders’ decisions. In ancient times, the leader in the organisation may be the most powerful and cleverest man.So the decision comes from him is always better than others’.

The interesting thing is that ancient people who did not follow their leader were dead, people who still were alive birthed the child ,and give the thought which is similar with the herd mentality to their next generation.
