What Next After Yes 🤔 ?
Human needs are insatiable and unlimited in Economics parlance. At every point in time, there is a desire to become or have something. There isn't a time when our minds are blank and devoid of a desire no matter how seemingly 'insignificant'.
May be because of the way we are wired, as one desire is being fulfilled, another finds its way up the list. At the core of our being is the desire to become something- make something of our lives. And as can be seen on Maslow's hierarchy of needs, the desire to be something i.e. Self-Actualisation tops the list.
A friend whose experience inspired this post needed endorsement for her fashion line. She desired the endorsement so much so that she prayed about it. She didn't stop there, she also spoke with media houses, OAPs, public figures and artistes to see if they could endorse her brand. She does a good job, i must point out. Have a look 👀
You know, when we pray, we don't determine how and when our prayer will be answered. Earlier on today, she got the endorsement she had zealously sought. To me, it was an answer to her prayer and now, "she must be ready to fly", I thought.
I however was wrong. How? She wasn't ready for the exposure she so earnestly desired. How did i mean and know? With the endorsement she got this morning, orders for various designs and styles started rolling in their numbers and then she said she's afraid. Why? "What if i cannot deliver to expectation" she replied me.
Oh my goodness, I was heartbroken 😭. Girlfriend,this is the endorsement you've sought for all the while, how come you aren't prepared to deliver?
You see, this is the situation with many of us as humans. We desire so much out of life with little or no preparation to handle the fulfillment of our desires.
You earnestly desire to be married, what next after being married?
On steemit, you can't wait to be a whale 🐳, but of what essence is being a whale if you can't handle the attendant responsibility?
As an artiste, you desire to be famous, but are you really ready to meet the demands of being famous?
So many politicians prepare for elections but very few prepare for office. If you don't want to make a mess of yourself, how do you intend to manage the glory and fulfillment you so much desire?
Don't just prepare for war, also prepare for victory.
The poser to you is, what next after 'Yes' to your requests?
Don't be in a hurry to want to be out there. Take your time to build structures. Whatever will last requires time. Take time to take roots downwards so that when the wind 💨 and rain ☔️ come, you might be shaken, but you can be sure you cannot be removed.
I dare to ask again, "What Next After Yes?"
