RE: The Psychology of Colours (Part 5) - Forest Green

And of course in America, green is also associated as the color of money... 💲💲

Too much green can make people lazy and slow.

So the pursuit of money can make an American lazy and slow? Oh crap...

But if that's the case, then why do traffic signals use green lights to indicate "go"?

Sort:

Oh, that's a great addition with money, thanks for it! Nomen est omen @doughtaker. :-))
Well, the pursuit for money will only make you lazy when you have a lot of money and you keep watching it, like Dagobert in Ducktales... LOL - It's the extreme exposure to green that slows us down, but that is relaxation, right?
The question of traffic lights is also an interesting one. I guess "green light" as an universal symbol for starting project comes from the traffic lights. Red was an obvious choice there, because it is alerting, it means danger and green was probably chosen because it cannot be mistaken for red.

I would guess that green means more like "it is acceptable to go", whereas red means a very passionate "NO GO FOR YOU!", and yellow is a bright warning to the fact that the signal light is about to change.
