The Selfie generation - is all about 'me', who I am, where I am - have you noticed how much attention is gained on some 'travel with me' Steemit posts?

This attention seeking is a human need, its like food. We need attention to be a stable personality. We used to have it from family and friends but these days many get a temporary 'hit' like a junkie from 'upvotes' or 'likes' on social media - but it has no lasting value, unlike the attention encapsulated within love from another person.

This attention deficit is one of the causes of our societies 'couldn't care about others' attitude.

ATTENTION: we need to pay attention to attention and understand it.

Modern psychology is becoming aware of these factors.

Have you ever wondered why people won’t accept new ideas, and new insights and discoveries?

It challenges their existing faucet of attention flow.

Like scientists, and all types of opinionated professionals leaders teachers and all manner of people whom have already accepted what they have been told or learned or implanted by education, they then make themselves become attention seekers due to their arrogance. Having gained an ability or a position on a topic they often show off and pontificate about their knowledge and their certainties.

These things gives us a clue to the psychology that shows a hidden drive - the need for attention.

It can be seen in all human activities including the recent cryptocurrency rise to dominance, which is changing and bypassing old established paradigms which upset those that have vested interest in their position of 'importance' that is/was the seat of their self importance - their attention fuel.
