The appeal of the "Bitcoin Expert"steemCreated with Sketch.

in #psychology7 years ago

It's been an epic display of wisdom coming from the "Bitcoin experts" over the last couple days as the "Red Market" continues. Everyone has an opinion and that's pretty good as we accept decentralization movement on the Blockchain. Probably we can now say that the "Blockchain" is giving "Wall Street" a run for its money. We have replace IPO's with ICO's and have made a couple modifications to this scheme and we now call it ICCO's. This train is grabbing a lot of attention and celebrities are made everyday. These celebrities flash the lifestyle's of our beloved friends on "Wall Street"

So what does it take to become a Bitcoin expert? There is no central authority issuing any certification but if you were an early investor probably folks would take your words seriously. Or probably you got lucky and made a couple impressive "Buy" or "Sell" calls, you know, the trades work out in your way and everyone considers you "the man".

Everyday I come across a lot of Youtuber's and Steemian opinion on the topic, some icons in the field and others are marketing genius. Of course, there is a couple "scientist" who actually has a clue what's going on but few takes them seriously. There are others who know how to get their way around and has grown influence. Other's has jump on many ships, signaling the potential takeoff of their new found treasure, while others realize that the ship is sinking an are looking for others to bail them out of their position. We can now say that the experts have successful created a speculative environment

Having the title or status gives you the advantage if you know how to use it. If you take a really good look at the picture above, you would realize the game of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency isn't different from our everyday financial market. You see if you are heavily invested in a Bitcoin, you certainly get the best to advertise and raise the profile of your investment. The title of the expert plays the strings of the reader's mind. People want to hear good things about their investment, so a "Good Bye" play's the string of "Buy" and a "Excel" play's the string of "Sell". To most people, money carries a high level of emotion especially when there is a possibility that they can lose it all. People who understands this aspect of human life strives in a speculative environment. A lot of people are concern about the continuous red days int he cryptocurrency space and the amount of experts has certainly skyrocketed in the last couple weeks.

You would be surprise with the volume of people that has absolutely no clue about the science and know-how about Bitcoin and has invested their life savings into it. It is this exact scenario that create a speculative environment that these mind wizards play with. You don't need to know the person advocating his given stance on the issue but he has the credentials of the Bitcoin expert that causes you to either "Buy" or "Sell". Certainly I would be foolish to come up against these Bitcoin experts as my credential pale in comparison.

Probably the more interesting question to ask? Are our minds governed by the appeal of authority or emotional vulnerability. Can our nakedness of knowledge cause us to sell ourselves short or buy into the appeal of authority? We certainly need to analyse ourselves as we face any uncertainty in life. If we fail to understand what's happening around us, we play into the hands of our experts, who exploit the ignorance we face. History is probably our best source of authority given our present situation and here snapshot of Bitcoin vs the best.

We certainly cannot be on top of our game every time. But if we arm ourselves with what history has shown happen in the past, there is a high likelihood that it would happen again. Sometimes we have to unmask our minds appeal for authority as a determinant of our decision and evolve ourselves from the emotional vulnerabilities that money carried with it.

Playing money games with speculation and luck on human behavior rand psychology... someone to obey and worship as a money "God" lol

That comic is funny, it's a good way to test if someone knows anything about what they are talking about, or if they are just "going with the flow" and want something because others want it, like the blockchain. Of course blockchains have colors like everything else...

hahahahaha.... the miners are pulling off the ultimate con, I am still awaiting the SegWit2X and the not supportable UASF is still showing up... this may be mind games at its best... very few folks have any clue what's going on and they probably buy into a completely new coin and not know it.
History would beat us again, I keeping an eye on the data and see how the crowd reacts, after August 1st you would know who has any clue what's going on and who's dancing behind the loudest speaker

I think anyone who uses SteemIt is essentially, indirectly, a buyer of bitcoin. So we may as well just accept it and stop worrying about the bomb.
