I wish we could have some idea at least and it is true you need loads of knowledge to help predict but there are so many outside influences that could change things drastically. That is why it is so rare and special when someone gets it right or even just being close.Very true that some things are more predictable than others, but it is still a shot in the dark.
thanks for the comment @cryptoandcoffee, it really depends on what you are trying to predict , some things you can have a 100% accuracy others can be 0%.
however, the point of the article is to get us thinking about the human ability of foresight and how we can, and do, apply it in our lives. How it shapes our decision making to achieve particular outcomes.
I do think that we dont recognize our ability to "see the future" because we sensationalize the concept.
