These people always believe they do everything well, that they make the best decisions and that they never make a mistake. The moment they actually make a mistake it is very likely that they will not admit it, because, in order to assume that they have done something wrong, they would have to change the image they have of themselves and recognize that it is not as perfect as they might want to believe.

I think you have just described the personality of a typical leader. It's rare to find someone who would apologize for committing a mistake or for making a bad judgement call when you were at the top. They would sometimes try to justify their actions/mistakes by quoting a lot of craps which by the way, sometimes, most of the people can see right through.

Well, I think there are good and responsible leaders that have no problem admitting when they are wrong. But perhaps the majority aren't like that.
