Human Faces: You Are Likely To Be Judge by Your Facial Look

in #psychology6 years ago

Hello fellow steemians!

I will be talking about the impression of people about looks.

In most cases, people says that first impressions last longer in everything you do.
I discovered that, in the first moment of meeting new someone, you will both have the intention of seeing something cool perhaps you will likely assess how much they look like.

In most cases, your thought will be to meet something that has a facial look of a baby.

In most cases, we always can't help but to ourselves out of what we do. In which , a book shouldn't be judge by its cover but the first impressions are kind of pretty important in meeting new people and they tend to really stick with people most especially when such people are not great.

However, most people decide in not less than a second of meeting someone new, they will say if they are trustworthy or not.

It is better you make that time count so much to you.
However, despite all of this, humans are not that very good at making quick foremost judgments about people.

Now, let's go back to the topic, "Human Faces : You Are Likely To Be Judge by Your Facial Look" which is to put your best face forward during meeting someone new means understanding what parts of your face are actually being judged so quickly but just smile it when in doubt.

I learnt that we all judge people with their expression on their face which led me to find the facial cues we have.
We all judge everyone we meet for the very first time by reading their facial cues.

There are types of faces that always talks about expression on people.

  • Babyface
  • Familiarity
  • Emotional Resemblance

  • Babyfaceness

Babyfaceness refers to a configuration of facial qualities that differentiates babies from adults.
People with babyfaceness individuals share certain features with babies such as rounder faces, larger eyes, smaller noses, higher foreheads, small lower face, full cheeks, fine eyebrows, and smaller chins.
The expression on their faces define babyish facial qualities.

  • familiarity

Familiarity on the other hand from dictionary refers to a casual way of acting.

With the mere exposure results shows is that people develop a liking towards stimuli that are familiar.
So even though familiarity can sometimes breed contempt, it seems that it more often breeds liking.

Why do familiarity bring more likable?

Because familiar things makes us feel comfortable. If something is familiar,we have clearly survived exposure to it and our brain recognizing this and steer us towards it.

  • Emotional resemblance

Let's not forget that little emotions are the great captains of our lives and we obey them without realizing it. - Van Gogh

People are influenced by others " little" emotions without realizing it and their emotional expression but also by the subtle resemblance of their permanent facial structure of an emotional expression.

Those with happy expressions are perceived as high in warmth and dominance.

The mere exposure results are fascinating, but even more fascinating is how most of us take little or no advantage of this tendency for enhancing our enjoyment in life.
