My technique on how i go to sleep faster | Step-by-step tutorial
Decided to share my own sleeping technique that i somehow came up with. Until i turned 25, i could fall asleep in matter of minutes. After 25 i started to notice it takes much longer time to fall asleep, so i started to "feel" my body and time when melatonin kicks in.
TL;DR Loosen all your body, every time you breathe out imagine your body sink more into the bed.

Long version:
- Loosen all your muscles and start controlling your breath, breathe in and then slowly out
- Every time you breathe out, make/imagine a feeling that your body is sinking into the bed(like a free fall feeling on roller-coasters)
- Put attention into every body part you have to make sure they are relaxed. If you have any thoughts coming back, keep focusing on breading
- In some point, melatonin in your brain starts kicking in. Then usually starts the next stage
- Imagine collapsing rings (i see only vague rings, less detail the better i think). They come and go, like you are going backwards in tunnel
- In 10 seconds, you should be sleeping now :)
Later in life i discovered meditation and was surprised on how remarkably similar it is to my technique. It's all about feeling yourself(body&mind) and controlling your body and thoughts
Factors that also help:
- Do meditation(3-7 days a week, at least for a month, to see effect)
- Use twilight app on your phone/pc, dont use bluelight screen 1-2 hours before sleep
- Darken your bedroom as much as possible
- Try some white noise generator app(rain, waterfall, wind etc)
- Empty your bladder
If somebody tries this out i would love to hear feedback :)
If you have any questions, please ask, i probably forgot to elaborate something important
This was a really well-written post! Lately, I've been playing rain sounds for my boys to help them sleep better.
Thank you so much, that means a lot to me :)
There's a twilight app? Uhmmm...
I'm just too stubborn and stay awake as much as I can. 😥 Thanks for the reminders.
