Proverb of the wise: The person who hears the reproof that leads to life is at home among the wise. Proverbs 15:31

There are a lot of sayings in the Book of Proverbs that teach about the importance of listening. And this is so because listening is in direct relationship with pride and arrogance, that is, with the intensity of one's own ego. When the ego is very heavy, a person cannot put himself in the other's situation, the psychological faculty of empathy fails; listening requires considering our neighbor a person, and not a manipulable object.
The inability to listen ultimately leads men down an uncertain path full of destructive unforeseen events, because, as the proverb teaches: "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed" Proverbs 15:22.
And an example of this in the Bible was the Pharaoh who was unable to listen to Moses when the prophet rebuked him for oppressing the Hebrew people. The pharaoh's plans failed one after another until he lost his life drowned during the crossing of the Red Sea; common sense and God's guidance allowed Moses to achieve his objectives in a very difficult situation.
This is why the Book of Proverbs leaves a beautiful teaching to reflect on from the wise man, probably King Solomon, author of the book: "The person who hears the reproof that leads to life is at home among the wise" Proverbs 15:31. The wise are the people who by grace have achieved the likeness of God in essence and the perception of the face of God and the truth; being in the company of the wise is a blessing and a certainty about one's own happiness. The ability to listen, to empathize with others, puts men on the correct path in life, and this is the reflection that the proverb calls for.
