How are effective strategies for building an opinion or propaganda on campus?

Building an Islamic high opinion is one of the goals of the campus mission which is, in my view, quite crucial. However, our society today is heavily dependent on information or in this context of opinion.

People are increasingly waiting, what updates will emerge or what issues will evolve over time. When we speak in the theme of da'wah siyasi, of course the opinion we are talking about is not about Islamic opinion ansih.

But we discuss how the issues of social, social, political, and student affairs that we will lift certainly based on the goal of campus dakwah - can be accepted by the campus masses.

Remember, communication without change of thinking and attitude is not a successful communication. So the main parameters of the effort to build an opinion is, how to keep the campus mass moved to do something we voice. In siakasi dakwah, building opinions is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand, because aspects that need to be considered quite challenging, namely:

  • Messages are quality.
  • Effective delivery methods.
  • A credible message submitter.
  • The image of the agency delivering the message.
  • Potential anti-thesis group or Demarcation opinion.
  • Mass message recipients that are fluid and tend to be passive.
  • Consistency in conveying opinions.

There are at least seven aspects that we need to consider in building opinions within a campus. In this section, we will try to explore these eight aspects thoroughly, so that later we can develop opinions effectively, efficiently and reliably.

Make Quality Messages

Sorting and choosing the right message in building an opinion becomes the first part that needs to be prepared. It is not just about "what theme" but also with "from what perspective" and "when".

Mention the theme of corruption in Indonesia. The theme is quite broad, but we can focus on strategic issues, such as corruption related to fuel, because BBM is closely related to people's lives and livelihoods.

By raising opinions from the right perspective, it will be easier to convince and touch the minds of the public in general.

Regarding "when?", It also needs to be carefully calculated by looking at what momentum is appropriate and when it is appropriate so that opinions can grow significantly. Call it, we raise the issue of education in the moment of education or raised opinion about academic integrity when approaching UAS.

By considering "what", "perspective", and "when", then we will be able to build a quality opinion, and with a quality opinion we will be easier to develop next.

Effective Delivery Method

The method of delivering these messages needs to be carefully planned, this method can be through one method or combination of several methods that ultimately form an effective set of delivery methods.

In general, we use publication methods as a mainstay, such as poster placement, leaflet distribution or later quite rampant by displaying information through cyberspace networks. However, if you only rely on one-way methods, then the dissemination of opinion will have limitation only to those who read our publications.

Building opinions is like selling an item, simply putting it so that everyone can be our spreading agent, in the language of communication often known as urban spread, or in gossip infotainment.

We need to harness human potential and hobbies in talking and talking about something, if an opinion is important and sexy to them, then they will naturally start and spread that opinion. Take an opinion on the involvement of party officials in the corruption of a government project.

It is conceivable, the people themselves who develop these opinions, they are not asked to put a status on their facebook or twitter, or they open a thread in the forum of cyberspace communication and discuss each other. If this conversation continues to grow, then the opinion we will lift can be happening among the object of our goal.

Opinions are also closely related to repetition or repetition, so it is important for us to be able to consistently repeat and repeat opinions that will be developed.

This repetition will encourage the awakening of the mind trajectory in the object of opinion and the thought of this trajectory will encourage the building of ideas. And when that idea transforms into action, that's when our opinion can be said to work.

Start a Credible Message

When an opinion is conveyed by an individual, then we need to carefully choose which individual will convey his message.

Because of the condition of our society that currently more see "who" who speaks rather than "what" is discussed. The credibility and integrity of the messenger will be very important to consider.

Call it, we are talking about world-class educational issues, but the one who speaks is an academically problematic, will certainly only give a negative perception of us.

Leaders in student organizations are expected to be credible and charismatic as leaders. With that, any opinion that will be appointed can be trusted by the campus masses who became the object of the purpose of opinion.

Channel of the Institution Delivering the Message

Not much different from the credibility of a messenger, the organization delivering the message must prove a reliable track record as well.

Reliable in the context of student organizations is closely related to the neutrality of the organization, the capacity of the organization's leaders, the quality of the study and the discourse developed by the organization, and how the organization communicates.

The image of a clean, professional and ethical institution needs to be proven, of course, it is not easy to build the image of the institution so that the institution can be used as a funnel and referral opinion.

Sometimes, because of one negligence alone, the image can be degraded and make any opinion we try to lift to be ignored by the campus crowd.

The image of the institution is a representation of the indvidu image. For that it is very important for us to ensure that the ADK that fills a student organization are those who have good capacity and credibility.

Potential Group Potential or Opinion Demonization

Before raising an opinion, we need to also understand a counterproductive group map that is counterproductive to our movement. This mapping aims to see the potential of groups who will anti-thesis the opinions we will adopt.

This group tends to always exist in every campus and we need to respond wisely if they dememarket an opinion we lift. The form of anticipation that can be done is to include the data as a foundation in building an issue, in addition to strengthening also the basis of debate from student leaders in order to counterattack if they make efforts demarketisasi.

Massa message receivers are fluid and tend to be passive

This is the biggest challenge in building an opinion on campus, the campus mass itself is becoming increasingly passive, and can even be said to be indifferent to matters other than lectures. It takes a serious and creative effort so that they can be interested at least to be concerned with the opinions we will lift.

Strategies that need to be considered in addressing this is through an interesting branding. Currently a lot of design products or publications are very interesting, although the message is heavy, but when packaged properly will provide great benefits.

Consistency in Presenting Opinions

Opinions will not be awakened only with a piece of paper taped to the bulletin board. Opinion is a series of information that is distributed in a sustainable and with a relatively long period of time.

Consistency becomes very important in building opinion, who can last long in expressing opinions, he who will win the pertarurang opinion that occurred.
