Bonus Post - Courage

It is my pleasure to participate in the inaugural #PromptParty post. This week we're talking about courage with @shawnamawna.

There are so many ways we can display that we are courageous. We can stand up to those who are spewing their bigoted ideas. We can make donations to organizations we believe in. We can persist in the face of so much unfair treatment.
But to me, courage is more than that.

To me, courage is about standing up to injustice in a persistent fashion, but to do it as gently as you can. It is courageous to treat people with kindness. It is courageous to treat people with respect. Building consensus, even if you think there is no common ground, is a courageous thing to do.

In a climate where divisive language is the choice of many, choose to rise above it and be the bigger person.
In a time when we are all so tired, get on the stage and make music because it makes the world better.
