Having great steemians feature in the Abuja Steemit Meetup and Blockchain Workshop was a privilege to the @abuja-steem community. We can't thank them enough, as their contributions will go a long way to help a lot of steemians to find their way on the Steemit Blockchain.

The following presentations took place in the steemit event:

- @Ehiboss - Introduction to steemit and Cryptocurrency.

The first presentation was made by the man behind Steemit in Nigeria (SIN) where he elaborated in what steemit is, abd the basic understanding of Blockchain and cryptocurrencies. He talked about how difficult it was to blogg on steemit by 2017, the low amount of earnings and the price of steemit at $0.50 that made steemit a little hard for people to cop on.

"You need to have a niche" said @ehiboss, you should be know for a particular thing on the platform, you have to find yourself and know the exact contributions you can offer, by this, people will find it easier to locate and reward you for your contributions. He also talked about Steempower and Steem Dollars, the need to also come into steem as an investor (not just a content creator) will improve the activities on the platform, buying steem and powering up will reduce the act of spamming as you can reward yourself with both author and curation rewards.

You have to invest either your time or money in other to stay relevant on the platform he said. Your steempower is your right and only with that, you can challenge someone on the platform.

- @fisteganos - Creating quality content.

He was the right person for this presentation, the @oneequality project that features a lot of quality content is mostly controlled by @fisteganos.

He gave us a trick on how to use quality content to accumulate a good number of audience, and earn a good amount of steem dollars. You should learn how to stay away from plagiarism and use your quality content to create good relationship with other steemians because people can always tell of the hardworking you put in while writing a post, and they will always find a way to reward you with upvotes.

- @gbenga - Staying relevant and Relationships on steemit.

We had a chance of learning how not to spam people in the platform, sending people your links and commenting your links on their posts can get you flagged. We can find better ways of relating with steemians that spamming them.

He also made us understand the difference between steemit and other social medias, you cannot ask someone to follow you back because you followed the person, because people follow other stemmians for reason. Other things like sending people links for upvote because you are in a contest or because you want to have a better reward pool is not advisable, you should try having a chat with people and be friends, this will enable you have good rewards.

- @ejemai - Steemit Projects

Firstly before @ejemai gave us his presentation, he shared his story on how steemit was tough to him during his first 6 months on the platform. His earnings were very low, his relationship with people was poor, and he was evicted several times from discord channels, but he kept pushing because he knew the road to the top is not easy but he had a goal which with all efforts he was ready to achieve.

He also gave a vivid explanation on the future of jobs in Nigeria, where you have to pay in order to get a job and most of these jobs might not be of your profession. @ejemai gave a full life story of himself, how he had struggled to finish school and also serve his country Nigeria but nothing good was really achieved until he found steemit.

The platform has given us all the opportunity to showcase our talents, abilities and run projects that would benefir the community, you can practically do anything on the steemit Blockchain which brings decentralization to life itself.

There is a reason why people who have earned from steemit give back to the community, because the community itself has given them more than they wanted. Work hard and be consistent, and your efforts on steemit wil never be in vain.

- @nairadaddy - Air clinic

As a medical practitioner (Doctor) @nairadaddy has been able to put the air-clinic together. The @air-clinic is a place where everyone can receive medical attention fot free.

The @air-clinic serves the same purpose as a hopital but it's situated on air, you get all advice and consultations online. And yes, the Air-clinic has a lot of doctors and nurses that work in accordance to meet up with the need of all the patients on he steemit platform.

- @destinysaid - Steemit extensions

Steemit, as a father of other open source projects, it has extensions that provide clearer use based on your specification.

Extensions like dtube, dlive, utopia, dsound etc, has provided opportunities for bloggers, vloggers, songwriters, actors and singers. We have a lot of talented Nigerians that can use this extensions and be professionals there.

  • @dtube is more like YouTube, I could say a better version of YouTube where you can post your videos and earn due to your audience and quality of your videos.

  • @dsound is mainly for musicians, rappers and sound engineers for them to record their songs.

  • @utopia is an open source project, mainly for developers, programmers and software engineers. There are other rooms for visibility, suggestions and many more.

  • @dlive is for a live streaming activity, if you like streaming live videos or live tutorials, you can use dlive and have it on your steemit blog.
