Hello everyone, welcome to my blog
It is is said that

You can force a horse to go to the stream but you can't force it to drink from the stream.

The same is applicable to this community, you can force someone to join the steemit community but it's left for the person to take deliberate steps to succeed.
Last week i started a project Mitup5 which was targeted to help newbies understand the basics of how steemit works and debunk false information they might have gotten. It takes a couple of months before large meetups are organized to talk about steemit and in most cases, it costs a lot too, so to bridge the gap and also save some people time and cost , i decided to do a weekly meetup to solve that challenge
The first meet up was really successful, about 10 people turned up, a curie curator was around, he taught about quality contents and explained steem blockchain system. It was really an educating one.

Organizing the 2nd Mitup5 was quite challenging as the venue that would have been appropriate was not available and the people who registered kept on giving excuses why they wouldn't be around, i could only but try. Truthfully i almost canceled the Mitup5 for this weekend because i was discouraged but two new people picked up interest in attending just yesterday and made it a huge success.
Helping @peterakpan and @amoni understand the basics of steemit was actually fun for me. @peterakpan joined in November but there was no one to put him through and help him understand the basics of steemit and so he was nonchalant about the community, i answered his questions about curation rewards, steem power, voting power percentage, bandwidth challenges and a host of other unclear terms.
@amoni is actually a newbie who is barely a week old. I was impressed by her smartness and her willingness to learn. If i started at that pace, i would have made tremendous progress by now, I'm still successful here though. I taught her how to format her posts, how to use relevant tags, comments that counts as spamming, the difference between steem and steem dollars and how to check her activities on the platform. She had already introduced more people to the community, she's so enthusiastic.

@peterakpan @amoni and myself
I want to extend my gratitude to @peterwrites @zhyorna and @vwovwe for their support and encouragement, you know sometimes we need a little more push. @samstickkz our uyo community boss @ifioklee our uyo community crush thanks for your extra efforts, you guys are my inspiration.
As for me, I'll keep promoting steem in my little way.
