OFFICIAL REPORT OF STEEM9JA UNIVERSITY MEET-UP.

Steem9ja held a meet-up in University of port-Harcourt at the faculty of clinical science on the 10th of March, 2018.The meet-up was for the purpose of telling the students of university of port Harcourt about the Steem blockchain.
The steem9ja team organized the meet-up with the minnowschool and @stach

ORGANIZING TEAM.

The organization of this meet-up has been ongoing for the past two months. The steem9ja team did the meet-up in collaboration with the minnow school and stach.
This is a brief outline of the organizing team.

ONLINE AND OFFLINE PROMOTIONS.

ONLINE PROMOTIONS:

The meet-up was publicised online via different whatsapp groups. The whatsapp groups includes:
Steembees
Steemcity
Stach whatsapp group
Steemit delta meet-up whatsapp group

Publicity was done in various departmental whatsapp groups. The whatsapp groups are:

• pumsa info page(page for medical students
• clinical students quarter whatsapp page
• some other departmental page and religious whatsapp groups for various departments.
  Also, it was publicised via facebook on the university of port Harcourt page.
  Some telegram groups were also reached out to of which steemcity was included.

OFFLINE PROMOTIONS

The offline promotion included printing of fliers and campus sensitization. We went to major places in the university of port Harcourt to sensitize the university about the Steem blockchain. Here are the screenshots of the publicity.

THE EVENT

The event started by 12pm with Tony(a newly registered Steemian giving the opening prayer). After the opening prayer , everybody had to introduce themselves.

THE FIRST TALK

the first talk was by @bhoa who spoke about cryptocurrency and what is blockchain

THE SECOND TALK

The second talk was by @francistagbo(delegate from stach) who talked on (what is steemit and how to walk your way through steemit)

THE FINAL TALK

The final talk was by @bait002 who gave us tips as a minnow and taught us a lot about succeeding on steemit.

QUESTION AND ANSWER TIME

Different questions were asked and their answers were provided by steemians who had reputations of 52 and above.

SBD GIVEAWAY

A total of 9sbd was given away at the event.
The sbd giveaway was given as a reward for participating in either the question and answer session or the music show.

Meet-up Photoshoot and socializing time.

The meet-up ended with a photo shoot outside the hall and socializing with various steemians..

The meet-up had 40 people in attendance. New accounts were registered and added to the whatsapp group. Steemians in attendance were as follows;

Drawbacks

The meet-up was organized by efforts of the steem9ja team. The major drawbacks of this event are;

• lack of funding for the publicity before the meet-up. We were not able to get enough fund for the campus sensitization for the meet-up.
• The student union government were against sharing the fliers around the university environment.

APPRECIATION

Special appreciation goes to God for allowing the meet-up to hold. We also want to use this medium to thank @stach for all the support for the meet-up. Special thanks to @steem-ambassador for their support.

WATCH OUT FOR THE NEXT STEEM9JA UNIVERSITY MEET-UP

The next meet-up will be holding on less than two months time in another university in either Rivers state or Bayelsa state. Also watch out for steem9ja goes to Radio Nigeria to promote steemit.
