STEEM-UP ABA (SUA); EVANGELISING STEEMIT LIKE NEVER BEFORE

When I introduced myself here on Steemit via my introductory post, I said that one of the dreams I have is to impact my society through Steemit.

That dream is still very much alive hence, I am doing everything possible to achieve that dream, and the pursuit of that dream has given birth to this project tagged STEEM~UP ABA.

CONCEPTION:
Some time ago, I met a very good friend of mine, who is also a Steemian, and reside in the Town of Aba too @chrisdsteemsport, and in the process of our discussion, I discovered he had same passion like me, and we started tinkering ideas.

We thought about holding a steem meet up in Aba, but then we decided we need to get more people to know about Steemit in Aba rather than bring together people who are already on Steemit.

Against this backdrop we decided to take on massive evangelism of Steemit in the town of Aba also called Enyimba City(the People's Elephant City) and that was how the STEEM~UP ABA PROJECT (SUA) was born.

OBJECTIVES OF STEEM~UP ABA:
The SUA PROJECT is created to achieve the following goals:

• Spread the message of Steemit extensively in the city of Aba, and thereby speed up the growth of the Steemit community in Aba.

We discovered that the awareness about Steemit in the city is very low and that is not supposed to be so, because Aba is not just one of the biggest cities in Nigeria, but in Aba, so many talents abound and they can add so much value to Steemit.

• Use Steemit as a tool to usefully engage the teeming number of jobless but enterprising youths in the town, thereby aiding in reducing unemployment and promote youth empowerment.

• To create a formidable Steemit-Aba community, whose influence shall transcend to Steemit-Nigeria community in general.

OUR TARGET:
Our target is to get at least twenty thousand (20,000) new functional accounts from Aba alone registered on steemit within the next six months.

METHODOLOGY:
Our methodology is to segmentise the town and Steem~up the town sector by sector.
In Aba we have about ten higher institutions of learning, and we intend to take off from these institutions.

We would visit these tertiary institutions, liase with the school authorities, and organise seminars, symposia and lectures about Steemit, get interested students to register on Steemit.

After their successful registration on Steemit, we would still be going for training courses from time to time, just to get them acquainted with the community and teach them what they need to know.

Finally, in all the institutions we visit, we shall set up a steem hub/office, which shall have free WiFi just to make it easier for the students to prepare and make their blog posts.

THE JOURNEY SO FAR:
We want to use Abia State Polytechnic, Aba which is one of the foremost tertiary institutions in the town as our test case, and we have already started negotiations and deliberations, with both the Student Union Government, and the School authorities, and very soon, the date of the very first STEEM~UP ABA (SUA) STEEMIT SYMPOSIUM will be announced.

We know it is not going to be an easy journey, we know there are sacrifices to be made, we know it is going to take our time and resources, but we are committed to making it work. We also call on all well meaning Steemians within and outside Nigeria support this project/mission, join us as we STEEM UP ABA.
