Checking Your Steemit Progress

in #promo-steem6 years ago

I do recommend this concept to most minnows who i come in contact with, I challenge them to go back and see how far they have gone and how well they are doing from time to time. Steemit is like an ecosystem and the need for growth is vital, so we have to check our progress from time to time.

Good day, I'm @raymondbruce. I am a steem ambassador and I'm a lover of steemit.

As humans, we have to constantly check where we are and compare it to where we started from and where we intend going.

Most of us has occupied one particular position for too long, we don't even make efforts to leave that particular position, never tried to make friends nor allow ourselves to be useful to the community. There are few things you can use to check how well you’ve been doing on steemit. Your relationships(friends), your post rewards and lastly for the sake of this discussion, the quality of your writing.

1. Your relationships:

How long have you been hanging around here? And how many strong relationships have you successfully built? If you’ve been around here for months and you have no steemit friend, know that you are growing your blog with the wrong approach. At this point you have to have people who look out for you and you also look out for. Most of us can’t just wait to drop our post and sit back to watch some miracle happen to the post reward, It doesn’t work that way anymore. At this point when tags don’t really work anymore except a few, you have to leverage on every positive and healthy relationship you can build in this ecosystem, you should know that luck is no longer a word on steemit you have to have people who watch your back. And your approach in making friends shouldn’t be obviously motivated by needs or selfish reasons, it should be motivated by care, compassion and respect.

Always do to others what you expect them to do to you … if you think you need reactions on your posts give it first and see how it goes.

2. Your post rewards:

Truly, I am one of those who encourage minnows to take their eyes off the reward and do what they do for the love of it, with or without the monetary rewards. Still we have to understand without denying the fact that one major yardstick for measuring success on steemit is in terms of monetary rewards. The algorithm is perfect and everything is connected, your post earnings’ is a function of curation and curation is a function of impression and all these translates into a growth in your reputation. Growth in your post rewards is basically what depicts the boost on your reputation, holding all other factors constant. I know this is beyond our control as minnows, since you are not in total control of what your post earning would be, as a result of your low steem power. However, there are so many windows already opened to you to make things work out. I would recommend some discord channels that look forward to receiving links to creative articles. All you have to do is post quality articles and avoid plagiarism.

3. The quality of your writing:

If at this point, you still write the same way you wrote when you made your first post, know that that doesn’t really depict growth. I remember my first steemit post, it was indeed horrible and as at then I expect a million dollar upvote on such posts. That’s ridiculous, the longer you stay here the more you should seek to grow intellectually. There are some of us who never really enjoy the benefit of the intellectual growth that steemit brings, due to the fact that we don’t take time to learn from others because we claim to be too busy going about our own business. We only care about our own posts, we don’t seek quality authors to learn from them, we never learn and we expect to have a growing blog. Growth is a function of change; something that doesn’t undergo change cannot grow. Take time to watch others that are ahead of you and learn from them. That would improve the quality of your writing, giving you an eye for what quality content looks like.

I believe if these principles are adopted there would be an obvious change on your steemit blog.
