Hello guys, and happy sunday to you all.
Yesterday I happened to be at Owerri, Nigeria for a steemit meetup which was organised by @eurogee and @euronation. I was happy to see old steemians which I already knew, put a face to most people I chat with, and also meet new steemians. I was glad I didn't miss this opportunity.
The importance of attending meetups cannot be over emphasised. By virtue of Steemit being a socioeconomic platform, you can't do so much without socialising with fellow steemians. Socialising Is paramount, if one tends to advance.

Steemians who attended this meetup were much, we saw big shots like @fisteganos, @ehiboss, @nairadaddy, @eurogee, @samstickkz, @drigwe, @tojukaka, @gloglo, @theheralds, @expency, @samest, @mimi, @tony-duke, @gee1 and lots of others.
The event was as informative as it was fun. There was talk section about what steemit is and what it Represents, so that non-steemians who attended wouldn't feel left out.
After this, @tojukaka gave a talk on the topic : connection between steem crypto and steemit and how they are related to Blockchain technology. Screenshot_2018-03-18-18-15-28-picsay.jpg
He explained how the whole system functioned.

@ehiboss talked about account security. Screenshot_2018-03-18-18-15-06-picsay.jpg

this is very important as most people tend to put their passwords in anything that pop's up, Phising links inclusive. He told us about the need to back up password, as it's very essential to prevent loss of account. funny when he said "even your backup should have a backup".

Next speaker was @gloglo. Screenshot_2018-03-18-18-15-45-picsay.jpg

She was actually sitting beside me, and I had no idea that she was the one till her name was called. She enlightened us about who witnesses are, and the role they play in keeping steemit very functional. She also told us why we should vote for witnesses.

@samstickkzenlightened us on how to go about investing on steem and cryptocurrencies at large. 20180317_142622.jpg personally, I learnt new things and had to call him on phone later for more info.

After that, @nairadaddy was there to enlighten the crowd about bringing creativity to steemit platform. We used @airclinic as case study, where @nairadaddy (Dr. George) brought in a clinic section to steemit and it's doing so well.

I loved the talk given by @expency, his topic was tags and their usage. It's not an uncommon thing for you to see someone use another person's username as a tag or for you to see only one tag used in a post. I believe most newbies are not well oriented about tags. I'm happy that he did justice to the topic.

It wasn't all talk and talk, we were entertained by the drama group consisting of @ehiboss, @mimi and others. I never knew @ehiboss was a good actor. Screenshot_2018-03-18-18-14-07-picsay.jpg
It was a drama with a take home lesson. " it potrayed the Opression of the female kind".

My good friend @michaelcj was there to entertain us with his dance steps. to bad my phone was low at the moment, I couldn't take a video. He is indeed a good dancer. Now I'm thinking of taking dance lessons. lolz.
There was snacks and drinks to go round. Everyone ate to their fill.

@gee1 taught the crowd on how to socialize and building relationships on steemit through commenting. Most times, we don't actually find those we like their contents on discord or steemit-chat. The only way we can keep up with them is through comments on posts. Doing this also attracts them to check out your own blog sometimes.

The Last talk was by @theheralds. Funny but important topic. How to avoid visits from cheetah. It was an expository talk, but I'll summarise it in 5 words. Don't copy and paste contents. Visit from cheetah attracts @steemcleaners and also causes loss of followers.

Our mc of the day @chrisdsteemsport was there to make the event much fun. Loved your jokes man. You did a great job.
Finally it was time for pictures. I didn't take much due to my flat battery, but I did manage to get these few.
