I quiet disagree with you, and I beg to differ,a rallying point for people to meet and share ideas those not defeat the ideology behind steemit, just like steemians meet-up, this is not so different.
A centralized and organised place were would be steemian wiil be trained and equipped with mental resources for productivity does not defeat the system, it empowers it.
The idea behind steemit was conceived within an office space.meet-ups,training,sensitization will be better organised if there is a rallying point.
Is that an assumption or a fact? You may want to listen to interviews with the founders and maybe you would understand the concept of decentralization and peer to peer. A clear understanding of the values that drives this development would make you understand why Steemit will may never have an official office located across regions. Individuals are free to set up meet ups and festivals but in the interest of freedom it does not seem consistent with its goals to create regional offices. This makes it easy for governments to control. To set up an office you have to comply to certain laws which could bring in censorship. The freedoms we enjoy on Steemit to express ourselves is this way because no government controls it. I was in Mexico last week for the Steemfest at Anarcharforko and I got the sense that freedom and decentralization was very important.
In this new economy it requires a new mindset. The internet makes it possible to have global teams. There is no need to try and force old ways on new concepts. Prior to the internet age we needed centralized offices to collaborate and work together. The coming of blockchain technology combined with the internet this is no longer the case (decentralized work force) and there are loads of tools to help with global collaboration and even local.
I understand your point of view, kindly be informed that the this concept of mine will be implemented if not now, but in the nearest future.with people with a different school of thoughts like myself, ideology behind the dream steemit was born will no longer be in vogue.I understand the whites paper, and I foresee a new implementation by progressives one day, let's watch and see.the climes here is different from Canada, you need to take a trip down to Nigeria, I'll take you round the city and you will see my point of view.it is pathetic here.trust Mr a rallying point will be the last thing you'll want to implement when you see the harsh economic climate here.I appreciate your input.
Nigeria is no different from Mexico, Venezula or India where it works (except for the corruption) where snakes supposedly eat money and corruption is at its highest. I see this request as such. Next you would need funds for rent, workers (workers that wont be paid for months but are hopeful).
There is a tendency to specialize is meaningless projects just to get the initial payments and live a flamboyant lifestyle. If you are unable to generate an income like others do by creating content that pays for your lifestyle. How do you expect to pay for this? or who would pay for this? Poorer nations than Nigeria (Nigeria is not poor) are making it work with less resources. You do not need a building to be constructive. I met people living of #Steemit just by their hard work, some from Nations more oppressive and for some having to learn English for the sake of reaching more people. Nigerians do not have this challenge. There is no shortcut to riches on the blockchain.
If you are bent on forcing old familiar ways of doing the new rather than embracing the new then your results would be the same as the old - failure.
Nigeria clearly has a failed/ sick government with processes that do not work. It has a reputation of not allowing freedom of people if they come too close to upsetting powers that be. Remember Dele Giwa? Wole Soyinka, Ogaga Ifowodo, Tai Solarin, Gani even Fela - imagine how different things would have been if they had a non localize platform to operate from. There would be no office raided, to shrine to raid and their messages would be well documented.
Ask yourself why should Nigeria be different? Why should the failure to take advantage of an opportunity be rewarded? the the concept has been proved to work every where else (including Nigeria). You may want to connect with Steemians in Nigeria and see how they have excelled without the building.

Hey @olusegun no wahala. I am just passionate about empowering people and not cooperations or governments. Steemit is making it possible. Let's not pass our "freedom" back to the others let take ownership.
