HIGHLIGHTS FROM STEEMUP OWERRI MEGA MEET-UP AND MY EXPERIENCE!

Yesterday was SteemUp Owerri Mega meet-up and I was really excited about attending this meet-up because it was my first meet-up. I really wanted to be there
at exactly 10am,So I left for Owerri from Aba by 8am for the 2 hours journey and I succeeded,I was there on time.
During the meet-up I was opportuned to listen to reputable Steemians like @eurogee @tojukaka @ehiboss @gloglo @samstickkz @nairadaddy @theheralds @xpency @gee1 share few tips on what steemit is really all about and am glad I listened to them, they were really great speakers and I learnt a lot.

The meet-up started with opening prayer taken by @chrisdsteemsport who happened to be an amazing compere of the meet-up. I almost literally laughed out my ribs because of how funny he was.

A welcome address was taken by @eurogee, the founder of @euronation and the organizer of the meet-up. He also spoke on politics and cryptocurrency:how steemvangelism can help legalize steem cryptocurrency in Nigeria. This words stood out to me though; steemit has helped to bind different people from different ethnic groups in Nigeria without discrimination and with the current pace of steemvangelism,steemians would soon lead in Nigeria. He also predicts a minimum of 10 million Nigerian Steemians in the next 10 years if we pursue steemvangelism. Special thanks to him for organizing the meet-up.

@Tojukaka- An amazing speaker,I specially admire the way he was able to get his audience attention and engage them. He spoke on the relationship between steem blockchain, steem(the currency) and steemit(the social media).
According to him,steemit needs a blockchain because it needs decentralization and transparency. Steemit needs a currency because it's not just a social media,it is a political system and an economic system and it also needs a currency to facilitate its reward structure. Steem needs steemit to attain mass adoption of the steem currency.

@gloglo-She spoke on witness education:their role in the stability of the steem blockchain and why it is important to vote for a witness.
According to her a witness is a person who maintains and takes care of the steem block chain including all the transactions happening on the steem blockchain. Witnesses create blocks,engage in the administration of server and serve a role in validating signatures and time stamping transactions by including them in blocks etc.
We should vote for witnesses because our votes keep them at creating blocks,transactions on the steem block has to go on and for decentralization to remain.
No vote,No witness,No steem blockchain,No steemit and No us!

@ehiboss-He spoke on account security and avoiding phising baits
Since I have once been a victim of lost password,I had no choice but to listen attentively...lol.
According to him,your password is your identity and you need to secure your password to prevent identity impersonation and loss of funds,he emphasized on having a back up for your back up for storing your password and upon suspicion of account being compromised,that you should change your password, avoid putting passwords in sites that are not trust worthy. Once your account has been compromised,be calm, don't panic and report to relevant authorities.

@samstickkz- The cryptocurrency boss,he spoke on cryptocurrency investment and why steem is the most valuable cryptocurrency to invest in
According to him,the world is getting more technological that very soon we would not need a third party like a bank to transfer money. Investing in cryptocurrency is volatile,so invest your spare cash,cash you can do without within one year and two years,buy an ICO because you have researched about it not because your friend says you should buy it. Steem cryptocurrency is the future of cryptocurrency,those that invest early would be better off in future.

@nairadaddy- He can smile for Africa. He spoke on different projects built on the steem blockchain with focus on Utopian-io,Dlive,Air-clinic,Dmania,Zappl,Dsound,Busy.org,steepshort etc.
According to him,steemit is not just all about posting and posting. Ideas rule the world,If you want to stand out on steemit,bring your ideas to the steem blockchain,your business,talents,profession and projects just like utopian io,@euronation project,@stach,Air-clinic and the rest have done.
Steem blockchain is the future!

@gee1- She spoke on smart commenting in relationship building.
According to her,Smart commenting is the act of making an intelligent verbal or written expression of one's opinion. It's an evidence that someone read the post and it's a reward to the author. Read before commenting,do not be fast to add "nice post", be sincere,be real and say something relevant to the post. Your comments tells a lot about you and it can make or mal you. Smart commenting shows that you care, it gets you real followers,the right kind of friends and it gets you noticed.

@theheralds- He spoke on flagging and how to avoid being flagged.
According to him, Copy and pasting content and comments,not writing the source of copyright images used in your post,spamming people, controversial posts on politics and religion can get one flagged. When you flag someone,also tell them why you flagged them.

@xpency- He spoke on tags and their relevance in post visibility
According to him,no one takes a picture in a toilet and tags a bank....lol. your tags must be relevant to your post so that people that would love to read about what you wrote on can find them and read them and possibly give you an upvote.

We also had other entertainment sessions during the meet-up like dance sessions,drama by @mimi and group and also sports highlight led by @chrisdsteemsport. we had something to eat too,you know man must chop...hehehe

It was really a fun meet-up and I tried to subdue my introverted nature to make new friends like @chrisdsteemsport, @dray91eu,@adorablechi,@florae,@uzzy25,@rose-collette,@zizymena,@nairadaddy.

My kid brother and an upcoming Steemian..hehehe,he actually insisted on going to this meet-up with me.
