The Biggest Uganda Steemit Meet Up is here!!
I am excited to tell you that Team Uganda is organizing another big meet up soon
It has been a while ever since we made a mega meet-up.The prices have been down of late and a bit discouraging to new people who come.
People join and make their intro posts which make very small dollars. It is even fascinating that at the moment,we earn more SP than Sbds!!
We have scheduled our meet-up on 24/Aug/2018 and I will updating you on all the progress to the day.
Yesterday @battebilly and me moved around Kampala to look for a great place where we can host the event.
This is the place we shall be at,i took this pic below of the inside, dont mind the colour.
The venue is called Kyoto Turkish Restaurant located at centenary park in Kampala.
We concluded in this place after like visiting more than 5 venues which I will show you below.
We paid for this venue as shown in this receipt.
This place is great, spacious and has no inconvenience like the previous places we looked at.
We are organizing this meet-up to grow and expand the Steemit Uganda community.
We are waiting for the posters to be designed and we embark on a massive social media campaign advertising this event.
We are going to task every Steemian in Uganda to share the meet up details to their whatsapp and facebook contacts.
We will also print out posters which we shal pin on the major universities here.If you remember we moved to all this universities spreading Steemit and I am sure most signed up ...
When they see this posters.... It will make them come to the meet up(my assumptions though?).
I wil update you when the posters are ready and when we own them, just keep posted to my blog.
The other venues we visited and didn't like are.
1. Papyrus Roof top
This was where we had our first mega meet-up in February if this year. The challenge we got was that they do not allow banners and also can't allow the use of a projector and it's just open!
2 .SAB Restaurant
This place is in the heart of town bit they shifted recently to another place which we assumed it will difficult for people to locate it.
It was also crowded and a bit small as you will see below.
As you can see above, there is a separation of rooms and they were small. It could mean that we could be in one room and another meeting is in the next adjacent room and there was no way of us raising our banner and also do a projection of our slides.
3. Green Bar and Restaurant centenary park
This was a great place but the tent was hot at the time we were there ie 4pm and this will be the same time our meet up will be going on!!
It is spacious enough though but the heat!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Steemian @achimmertens for sponsoring this event. He always sends Sbds monthly to support team Uganda in our promotions .
I will update you when the posters are ready.
Love
Jarau Moses
