Promoting Steemit......... 3 Incredible Reasons Why This is Where To Target !
It is always said that to succeed in the business world,you must have a target market.You cannot sell everything to everyone!
It is always advisable to have a target market in your mind before you start any business.You cannot sell your products to everyone you find! It will not be really effective and you might end up with no results at all.You must have a specific group of people you are selling so do that you can customize the product or service to their needs.
It turns out that even on Steemit we need to have a target market for our opportunity! Yes not everyone will join or understand Steemit.You have to be selective of the people you show Steemit as it will ease your marketing or promotional work.
I am sure the title of this post made you cuirious to find out what group to target Steemit to.I will be answering that in a moment.This post is mostly for people who promote Steemit and i guess all members on Steemit should be busy promoting the platform as its a win-win for the whole community.
3 Reasons We Should Target Universities
Let me hope it has come as no surprise that universities are the best places at the moment to market Steemit to! There are many reasons why it's the best place,but I will just list a few here today .
1. Universities Have Free Access To Internet
We all know to access Steemit we need a quick internet connection especially for us here in Africa.Its fascinating to note that the access to internet in Africa is still low as compared to other continents.
I have to admit that I went through secondary or high school without access to internet! This is hard to believe,but the reality here in Uganda.It's fascinating to note that out of the 17 or 18 years we spend in school,it's only the last 3 or 4 years where we are in university, is when we have great or abundant access to internet ! I am writing this from my own life experience.
The only time most people here in Uganda or Africa have access to the internet is in the university.I am talking about average Ugandans here which constitutes the majority.There is that minority group though that has access to internet from a lower learning level! It is also now becoming a custom for most schools to have an internet connection from a younger age.
As I have stated above,it is therefore logical to market Steemit to universities as they can easily learn more about Steemit the way they do or research their coursework.
I also support my point as I have been actively promoting Steemit in the Universities as can be seen in my last posts(which you can check and support them!).It has been easy to promote Steemit in campuses as people can simply make a simple Google search and read more and boom sign up(i have witnessed this happen in my eyes).
2 . Universities Have The Most creative and Entrepreneural folks in the world
I am sure that statement above is not over exaggerated! We all know the age groups of university students is around 17-25 by estimate.This age group is the most creative as compared to others We all know that these folks at university are more adventurous and ready to take on new tasks.This is the time folks learn a lot and start making a place for themselves in the world.
We all remember Zuckerberg was at university when he developed the Facebook idea,also remember Steve Jobs ...similar story. It's not therefore surprising to note that these are the best people to promote Steemit to.We have a lot of energetic folks at campuses who can really make Steemit big as long as we show them the future of Steemit.I always tell them to compare Steemit to when Facebook started...we are now in the early stages of Steemit as was Facebook in 2008.I always tell them to have long time mindset in relation to Steemit.
I ask them how long they have been active on Facebook and their answers on average is 4 years! I now tell them to compare that to Steemit in 4 years from now.
It should also be noted that,at university is when most people try out new businesses to support themselves. It's also at this same place(campus) most people fail at many things.I remember doing many online gigs that turned out to be scams! He scams and most young people have lost a lot of money on this scams and sometimes discourage them from any other online related things.I always turn this same idea to them and assure them in Steemit you not need money to join as other(We am want free things right..the catchy word is free).I tell them that Steemit will make them recover their previous losses(which are not big,but any loss to a student is a loss,no matter the size of loss!).
If we harness the creativity from these folks ,we shall surely take Steemit to the top.
3. University Students Are The Future
We probably all know that after university,these folks join the workforce which is also the biggest population in the world.It is therefore wise to target these folks now before they get into the work force as it will be more easier than marketing to them in the work force later.
It has also to be noted that,young people constitute to the biggest number of people in the whole world.In Uganda the young people(17-35) constitute 75% of our 42 million people! Do the math and find the real or estimate figure of young people in Uganda.
It has always been taunted that the young people are the future and it's the same with Steemit. It's a great idea to harness and influence these young people now so that we have a bigger user base in he coming years.As I mentioned in the previous point above of creativity,also these or we young people are still open to new ideas like Steemit unlike the old age group(no offence meant!).
It is also great to note that the most active and vibrant age group on the crypto space are young people. If you have been an ardent follower of crypto,you must or should be aware of that.It comes as great news to us Steemit promoters that the university students know something about crypto hence easy to explain Steemit.
I have to admit that in my last 2 or 3 weeks of actively promoting Steemit in the universities,i have met a big number of folks who know about crypto and it always makes my work easier.

I agree with you, universities have the most creative people in the world, great article. There is always that partner who has the best grades. There are also those who are demotivated to see, no matter how hard they try, they can not overcome their grade.

I agree with the points you made. I can only imagine what type return you'll have after advertising to this demographic. Students aren't usually rich, so Steemit is a great opportunity to spend zero dollars and seeing a return for your effort.

From my experience, I would suggest not taking this approach.
Best thing I can suggest is to provide information and resources to allow new people to make choices for themselves. If they aren't motivated enough to spend a little time to figure it out, then they aren't ready. In My Opinion (IMO) no one should learn about Steem (or any crypto) and dive in head first.
