What do you think we should do to make the steemit meetups more constructive?

If you have been following up on my posts, you can discern that the Ugandan community last held a meeting on 2nd June. This is not good for a growing community, for the reasons that the minnows easily lose track since the help is only done on phone calls with no human interactions and then also the old steemians lose morale since they are not encouraged enough. So I want to take this good time to Invite all the steemians from Uganda to come and attend our 3rd major meet up that is scheduled 25th August 2018.

What will be discussed at the meet-up?

1. steempayco
   It is an app that simplifies the art of buying and selling using steem dollars. You can learn more about it by checking their steemit account @steempayco. Some of the steemians do own simple businesses but they are not aware of how to use the app to increase their sales and how it benefits the community in the long run. It is undeniable that such a project is going to add value to steem and also to the developing countries as well. At the meet-up, we shall be opening up steempayco accounts for the members and also mentor them on how to use the new technology.

2. Quality content.
   A little while back one of the creditable steemians offered to support the Ugandan community longterm and it is really an awesome thing (thank you so very much ) unfortunately some of the people in the community are missing out because they are producing plagiarized content. At the meet -up we are going to share tips on how to bring up really authentic work on the platform. If you are reading this article and you have tips just kindly share them in the comment section.

3. Persuasion to continue steeming
   At the moment, the steemit platform looks like a deserted city so does the #uganda. The tag has about 7-8 posts per day, the price drops have stopped a number of people from steeming however for those blogging are getting so much steem power and attention from the community and I definitely think these people are not figuring out this.

4. Minnow mentoring.
   Sometimes I get messages from newbies asking me to take them through on how to survive on this platform, I always recommend them to take their time reading the welcome page. Surprisingly even after reading those exceptional blogs, they still don't know what to do. From a personal standpoint, I really think a one on one mentoring will add more value.

5. Dapps
   There are many apps built around the steem blockchain, for example, Dtube, Dlive, busy and many more, however, we are not fully utilizing the opportunities available. We are mainly focusing on writing on steemit, yet these apps curate the good work too. At the meet-up, we are going to encourage the steemians to use the Dapps more to increase their visibility and also take them through on how to get started with them.

Shall we have people outside steemit join the meetup?

Certainly! we have laid out plans to attract them to this meetup, we are in the process of designing fliers and banners that are going to be pinned on the different streets(I will share the design in my next blog). Next week we are also going for a promotion around the city to create awareness.

Who are the speakers?

Each speaker will handle a topic that they are well conversant with. The speakers include; myself, @jaraumoses, @yohan2on, @tesaganewton, @battebilly and @jona12.If you want to say something too, it is still open let me know earlier enough.

Where will the meet-up take place?

It will be at Kyoto restaurant centenary park, It starts at exactly 3:00 pm
